Supermajority it seems their feeling little 🔥 from their constituents over this law. Nashville did not vote for this the visitors here did.

Why is there a push to close Chicago Public Schools on May 1? According to the Illinois State Board of Education, only 1 in 3 CPS elementary students are proficient in reading and only 1 in 5 are proficient in math. Our kids need more time in the classroom, not less, yet Chicago parents are being asked for their kids to lose another day of school on May 1st for a political Day of Action. Parents and kids rely on schools for learning and consistency. Closing schools will send parents scrambling for babysitters or losing wages to stay home to care for their kids. For some kids, schools are where they get their meals and are the safest place they’ll be that day. As a CPS mom, I have skin in the game and expect my son to be in school where he belongs on May 1st. I want to speak directly to San Francisco’s public-school parents and our students. I know many of you are worried about the possibility of a teacher strike that could temporarily close schools—and I want you to hear this clearly from me: our kids come first. As mayor, even though I don’t oversee our school district, I’m deeply committed to making sure our kids get a world-class education—with safe public schools where kids can learn and educators are well supported. It is crucial that our schools remain open. Every day in the classroom matters. The Department was started under Jimmy Carter, and was supposed to make our kids smarter-- but four decades later, it failed. As somebody that taught high school and basically educating our new young adults, we should all be scared. The quality of videos that kids watch today is harming their brain! Kids today are not getting addicted to screens by accident. Most content made for children is designed not to entertain but to be addictive. Loud music, flashy colours, and quick cuts make it very easy to hold kids’ attention. Kids today don’t just face the problem of junk food, but also junk content. I’ve been working for years to include health in school curriculums. While many schools have adopted it, making it a part of every school in India will take several years. I’m excited to share that I have started Kids Pharmer, a calm health education channel for kids. Kids Pharmer is a low stimulation channel which promotes healthy food and uses calm music. Link to the channel is in the comments. PS: I strongly believe children below 2 should not be exposed to screens at all. Please don’t show Kids Pharmer to kids below the age of 2. Even for kids above 2, screen time should be minimised as much as possible. Ideally, not more than 30 minutes a day. Reel -

The quality of videos that kids watch today is harming their brain! Kids today are not getting addicted to screens by accident. Most content made for children is designed not to entertain but to be addictive. Loud music, flashy colours, and quick cuts make it very easy to hold kids’ attention. Kids today don’t just face the problem of junk food, but also junk content. I’ve been working for years to include health in school curriculums. While many schools have adopted it, making it a part of every school in India will take several years. I’m excited to share that I have started Kids Pharmer, a calm health education channel for kids. Kids Pharmer is a low stimulation channel which promotes healthy food and uses calm music. Link to the channel is in the comments. PS: I strongly believe children below 2 should not be exposed to screens at all. Please don’t show Kids Pharmer to kids below the age of 2.
