DEVELOPING: Taylor Sheridan is reportedly returning to Cinema. That’s at least according to Josh Brolin, who confirmed on the press junket for Ridley Scott’s The Dog Stars that Sicario 3 is 1) in the worlds & 2) being written by Sheridan. This isn’t good news. This is fantastic news. I’ve long maintained that Sheridan is at his best when he’s writing for Cinema. I have to admit, I’ve succumbed to Sheridan’s latest show Lioness, which is truly entertaining as hell. But Sheridan’s best work remains in Cinema.

Lioness might be Taylor Sheridan’s best show. Featuring three Oscar winners (Zoe Saldaña, Nicole Kidman & living legend Morgan Freeman), the entire cast top to bottom is elite - everyone delivers an outstanding performance. Matching the acting is the writing- Sheridan’s writing is also elite. The armed forces is a space Sheridan has had success with in the past (see Sicario) & his return to the genre with Lioness is a welcome one. Above all, this show is incredibly unpredictable, a key ingredient that I think is necessary to make a show a hit.

Taylor Sheridan is better at writing movies than he is writing television shows. Don’t get me wrong- the guy can write for both mediums as well as anyone this side of Aaron Sorkin. But films like Wind River, Sicario & Hell or High Water are proof Sheridan writes best for Cinema.

This is probably the best Apple Vision Pro game so far It’s called DapTap and it’s something like Beat Saber, but with hand tracking and cool robot hands. Music and rhythm do their thing and it’s fun, I recommend you try it 👍

Taylor has been one of the biggest underclassmen standouts this season where he’s averaging 18/5/3, and is averaging 23/4/2 on 46/35/75 splits in conference play. Taylor is an elite athlete at 6’7 who has the ability to create for himself at the rim and from the mid range for himself at his teammates at a high level. Taylor is one of the best PNR operators in the country where he’s in the 87th percentile in PNR play. Taylor is a high level finisher who’s shooting 60% at the rim on 135 attempts which is among the highest in the country. Taylor is also a strong spot up threat from three who’s shooting 40% on catch and shoot threes in conference play on high usage. There’s not many players Taylor’s age and size with his mix of athleticism, creation, finishing, ability to draw fouls, mid range scoring, and shooting and defensive upside. Taylor has extremely high potential and he’s been one of the best underclassmen in the country this season.
