Nova Scotia Premier Tim Houston is announcing the areas in the province where offshore wind energy could be developed. He claims wind energy will make us an energy superpower. Ya except you can’t export any of it unless a small part of the U.S. near by buys it. These people are insane.

More Nova Scotians will soon have an alternative to Nova Scotia Power to purchase electricity. Phase one of Mersey River Wind Project is expected to deliver power to Nova Scotians in early 2027. This is good news for Nova Scotia.

As Tropical Storm Lee continues to move slowly across the province, parts of Nova Scotia are experiencing wind gusts that can make conditions hazardous for our crews. When wind speeds are over 80km an hour, it isn’t safe for our crews to be up in the buckets and so we focus on assessing damage, responding to 911 calls, and restoring power from the ground where possible. In some parts of the province, we anticipate that these significant winds will continue for much of today. We do our best to give an estimate of when power will be restored. As we continue to assess damage across the province, we will update estimates. We encourage everyone to keep an eye on for the latest information. The safety of our customers and crews is our top priority. If you come across downed wires, please stay back and do not try to move them yourself.
