Kung walang session, hindi ko nga maintindihan eh dahil ang pagkakaintindi ko is that ang rules — nag-congressman naman ako, nag-senador din naman ako. Ang rules diyan bago ka mag-cancel ng session, you have to inform the other house three days before you cancel a session and there has to be a very good reason for canceling a session. 2. I don't think na ihahatid mo ang isang senador para pumunta kung saan siya pupunta, hindi yata sapat na dahilan para i-cancel ang isang session. Isang session lang 'yun. My honest review of Buruguduy The Musical Nung una, akala ko parang mababaw na patawa lang. Medyo nakornihan pa nga ako nung simula eh. Naisip ko "ang labo naman nito...patawa lang sila ng patawa" (buti nalang nakakatawa talaga sila✌🏼😅) Siguro I was trying to look for something deeper, and was hoping that things would soon make sense...or at least magkaroong ng satisfying amount of substance in their world of absurdity (naks...world of absurdity) Sure, it was fun and funny...and how the songs were used (and how the actors performed them), were amazing, and the visual assault was spectacular. Given na yun eh. ...but I kept asking myself, yun na ba talaga yun? Isang nakakatawang trip na may simpleng closure sa dulo? Then looking back, I soon realized how dark and simple the narrative was. Para akong binuhusan ng isang timba ng malamig na tubig. It was brilliant. Like a deep disturbing track disguised as a novelty song. Every single line and element pala were symbols and clues on what the story was all about...even the stupidest little things. Everything about it was precise and calculated. Lahat sinadya. Sobrang galing nung writer. Sobrang galing nila lahat. Napaka-fearless and unapologetic. Parang "kung di mo napansin yung serious side, oks lang...at least natawa at natuwa ka...and yun naman ang importante" 😁👍🏼 Kung na-gets mo naman, parang "p*tang ina...yun pala yun. Mga sira-ulo sila" 🤟🏼😳 sobrang in your face pala yung kwento. Sobrang dark and twisted, pero may subtle, at simple, and beautiful na silver lining.❤️ May seryosong matututunan, at makatotohanan na inspirasyon...na binalot sa isang makulit at magical na mundo. Basta...sobrang galing. ...and sobrang saya lang. Isang feel good na musical (na may dark twist all throughout) at siguradong lalabas kang naka-ngiti.❤️ Excited na ako manood ulit bukas...pero this time, I'll be looking out for more clues, hints, and easter eggs. ...or maybe, I'll just sit back, and simply enjoy the ride, without thinking too much. Nobody was making threats. Conservatives, students, and Utah leaders like Sen. Mike Lee simply called out this insulting, tone-deaf choice for a campus still mourning, which is our free speech right to do so. This was a terrible decision from the start. In Chapter 10 of my memoir, THE EDUCATION OF A SENATOR: FROM JFK TO TRUMP, I tell about watching President Lyndon B. Johnson disappear into the back room Capitol office of Republican Minority Leader Sen. Everett M. Dirksen while they wrote the Civil Rights Bill of 1968. This taught me a lesson about the “reasoning together,” as LBJ called it, that it usually takes to pass an important law. LBJ had told his vice president, Hubert H. Humphrey, “The bill can’t pass unless you get Ev Dirksen. You and I are going to get Ev. He’s got to look good all the time.” Johnson was not the only president who practiced “reasoning together." On the Nixon staff, I wrote memos for the president’s bipartisan meetings with congressional leaders. Democratic House Speaker Tip O’ Neill called Ronald Reagan the “worst president,” but they worked together. So did Sen. Trent Lott and President Bill Clinton, even while Lott was trying to convict Clinton in an impeachment trial. These lessons served me well as governor when I had to work with a Democratic legislature. In the Senate, it took a while for me to be able to work with President Obama. In his first six years, Obama achieved few bipartisan results. But later we worked together to lower student loan interest rates and on education and medical innovation laws that Obama called “Christmas miracles,” and the Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell called them the most important laws of that session of Congress. Senator Joel Villanueva, the master of double talk I once voted for Villanueva. I was a first time voter and he’s the young legislator running for Senate for the first time — to my disappointment, he turned out worse than the people we tried to replace with the supposed new blood. Following the Senate over the years, you will notice how he mastered the art of double talk. He will talk all these nonsense, only to vote Last Tuesday, this was evident. He said he agrees with the minority leader but concluded his statement with the exact opposite point. I invite you to watch the Senate plenary last Tuesday, you will see what I win. Ugh! Annoying! Beyond annoying. I cannot blame Senator Risa Hontiveros for saying that Dela Rosa-Cayetano motion was planned and with the Joel Villanueva viral videos… is it safe to say that he’s not just a part of it but might also be one of the masterminds? Why is he protecting Sara Duterte? Joel Villanueva is not making sense at all with all his excuses! The videos are clear! They didn’t ask him for procedural concerns, he was directing Imee Marcos. Lols! Also, there’s the other video of Robin Padilla saying “Hindi naman yan ang napag-usapan natin”. Ano ba ang napag-usapan? Remember how he buried the SOGIE bill as the majority leader? He started his speech by saying that he has a lot of LGBTQIA+ friends, he even dared to say that he has the utmost respect and love for them. Then, he moved to refer the bill to his committee after allegedly soliciting for letters from religious groups. Remember how he belittled the partylist representatives, as if that’s not what he started? Lols. Joel Villanueva turned out to be so much worse than the politician we despised in the past.
