Today I met Dave, who drove the first train out of Waterloo under the Government’s public ownership programme. We said we’d bring the train operating companies into public ownership. We’re delivering. Next stop: set up Great British Railways to better manage track and train!

Suspected arson on train carriage Leyton Underground station - London Officers were called just before 11.50pm, to a report of a bag which had melted into the floor of a train. It is believed that the train pulled into Leyton Underground station at around 10.13pm and smoke was seen coming from the carriage. The carriage of the train has suffered extensive damage. I shall continue to fight for a through train to London from Grimsby via Market Rasen, as I have done for years now. Grimsby is one of the largest towns in England to not have a through train to London, the Government is not prepared to spend the under £1 million it'd cost to do this, yet we are willing to continue to commit many many times more than that to HS2.
