As a major ancestral home of the Teochew people, Jieyang in Guangdong Province officially launched the "Teochew Kinship Hub" project on December 1. The Hub, located in the historic core of Jieyang's ancient city, will feature 14 association halls. Each hall will be designed and built by Teochew associations from 14 different countries and regions, serving as spaces for historical exhibitions and community gatherings. Today, we took a tour of the University of Pretoria’s Moja Gabedi Community Engagement Hub in Hatfield. The land where the hub is located is City-owned and used to be an illegal dumping site. The final section, Atlantic Pond, is on track to reopen to the public this coming November. Marina Park, when completed, will be a regional park six times the size of Fitzgerald’s Park, the green heart at the centre of the 146 hectares regenerated Docklands area. It will be the first URDF (Urban Regeneration and Development Fund) funded project to be delivered as part of the Cork Docklands regeneration.

The Shabeeleey Resort, the first ever Tourism project, and the ~260m dollar Aysha’ wind power project will have immense positive impact on the lives of the people of the region and the country. On behalf of the government and people of the Somali Region, we thank the Prime Minister for the attention and priority he has given to a region long marginalized. Once considered a periphery, Jigjiga is positioning itself as a new important hub and center in the regional integration initiative of the Horn of Africa.
