The seventh 777-9 takes flight with #TeamBoeing for the first time. Test teams will prepare this airplane to conduct Extended Operations (ETOPS) testing. 🕒 Seven's first flight lasted ~3 hours with most of it occurring over Washington, Idaho and Oregon. 🌎Next: ETOPS certification means airlines can choose faster, more fuel-efficient paths over oceans and remote areas because they can safely operate at distances from diversion airports. 📝 The 777-9 test fleet has logged over 4,800 flight test hours in total.

We’ve entered the next phase of our flight test program, showcasing piloted Midnight flight, as well as CTOL capabilities. The piloted flight featured a conventional take-off and landing (CTOL) demonstrating the robustness of Midnight’s landing gear which is capable of performing both vertical and conventional take-off and landing operations. Through our design and certification process, our team, government regulators and our customers, both civil and defense, have identified the importance of being able to conduct both vertical and conventional take-off and landing as part of normal operation of the aircraft as having CTOL capabilities in addition to VTOL provides operational flexibility and enhanced safety. Watch the full flight as Midnight cruises at speeds of up to 125 mph and reaches a maximum altitude of over 1,500 feet above ground level with Archer Chief Test Pilot, Jeff Greenwood, at the controls.

🇷🇺 ANOTHER AIRCRAFT FULLY PRODUCED IN RUSSIA: The Il-114-300 passenger aircraft is completing flight tests in Altai, the Ministry of Industry and Trade reported. The aircraft is made entirely of Russian components. As part of the tests, the Il-114-300 flew from Gorno-Altaysk to Baikonur and back. The aircraft is being developed for local airlines, with the potential for deployment in remote regions. It will be capable of operating autonomously from small airfields with short, unpaved runways. It is also planned for use in Arctic regions under low-temperature conditions. -> This is a third aircraft model that is fully produced with Russian parts. Western airplanes will never return to the Russian market and Russian allies, like BRICS will buy these too (even to avoid potential sanctions). Cutting off Boeing and airbus marketshare.

The Asiana crash in San Francisco was 13 years ago July 6 2013: Asiana Airlines Flight 214, a B-777, crashes in San Francisco (US), 3 of 307 aboard die. On landing, Jet approached too low and slow: its tail struck a seawall and was ripped off, and the aircraft cartwheeled on the runway. Investigation pointed pilot actions, with factors such as training, breach of SOP, inadequate supervision of trainee pilots, and fatigue, among others. This antenna system will provide high-rate telemetry and video during flight and from the Moon's South Pole. Thank you to the team at NASA_Johnson and throughout NASA for the collaboration during these tests. Endurance is now arriving to the Space Coast!
