I hope everyone takes a couple minutes to listen to McKenzie Bailey's inspiring message. After the Georgetown HS senior won gold in the 5A girls' 3200m, the future TCU Track & Field standout was incredibly courageous about the challenges she had to overcome to just compete at #UILState. "I don't need a gold medal to say that I'm amazing. We're all amazing as we are. If I just embrace the journey and embrace the people that are there and the experiences along the way, it means so much more when you do reach those goals." For the first time in my career, thousands of interviews, a high school student-athlete has chillingly moved me to tears. What deep perspective. Thank you for sharing your story, McKenzie. 🧸yeah...2.0 is where BTS is at right now after going through all the change and growth. It feels like we have stepped into a new chapter and reached another level. Like how we say "you know how we do" in the song. 🧸We're a lot more confident in our (?) now. With this track, we wanted to show who we are today and the way we're moving forward with stronger conviction.

We wanted to honor the past while bringing in the future…the song features vocals from Brad and Jakob which is so special for all of us. The blend of the new generation and the classic OG Sublime is what we aimed for and hearing them together is beyond amazing. Having it come together with Brad and Jake and including our boys Stick Figure along with Miguel producing is representative of the past we honor and the future we want to sonically expand on. It’s the blend we wanted to offer the world for the first thing they heard from the reborn Sublime. The track is out now and the response we have gotten brings us joy. Sublime Family Forever!!! Steph Curry says the Warriors have to get back to the basics of what makes a good, competitive basketball team next season: “I’ve only been in one locker room for the last 17 years, and before you win the title, there were only those first two years where you’re building the foundation for what a championship team looks like, even though you had no idea what that really meant. Then you accomplish it, then everything else is based off of that, and it’s been that way since 2015. So I think we can reshape the narrative, like knowing in the back of our mind that is the ultimate goal, but we have to get back to the basics of what makes a good, competitive basketball team every single night. Understand how, realize how hard it is to win in this league, but can we rethink how we do things with the foundation that we’ve established? We don’t have to keep saying championship, championship, championship every day, even though we’ve experienced that. It’s can we just build the foundation again with what this team needs to do, with the way that the game is played now, how fast it is, how young and athletic it is. All of those things, we have to kind of put everything on the drawing board to get back to just being competitive every single night.”

🚧 Exciting progress at Naperville North! Our new turf facility is nearing completion and our track project is officially finished ✅. These improvements will provide a state-of-the-art space for our student-athletes, PE classes, and the entire Huskie community. A huge thank you to the Naperville 203 administration and Board of Education for their vision and commitment to investing in our students.
