I remember it was June 9, 2025 when 5 commuters lost their lives after they fell off a running train near Mumbra Railway station. Today is September 8, 2026. Every train that passes Mumbra from both the directions slows down or rather crawls. What a shame that DRM Mumbai CR couldn’t rectify the error even after a year. Ashwini Vaishnaw Central Railway

Respected Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji, Hon’ble Home Minister Amit Shah ji and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw ji, A humble passenger-convenience request regarding Vande Bharat Express 22487/22488 connecting Delhi with Sri Amritsar Sahib. Amritsar is not merely another destination. It is a holy city visited by millions of devotees and tourists from India and abroad. Train 22487 generally reaches Amritsar around 8:45 pm at Platform No. 7. With no escalator facility for movement over the footbridge, senior citizens, pilgrims and passengers carrying luggage face considerable difficulty. If operationally feasible, could Vande Bharat be received at Platform No. 1 and Train 22488 depart from there as well? The train presently originates/terminates at Old Delhi Railway Station (DLI). Reaching Old Delhi through heavy traffic and congestion can itself be challenging, particularly for elderly passengers and families. If technically and operationally possible, shifting its Delhi origin/termination to New Delhi Railway Station (NDLS) would make this prestigious connection far more convenient. Perhaps such issues are normally brought to the authorities’ notice by local public representatives, civic organisations or NGOs. But as a resident of Amritsar and a regular traveller, I felt it was my responsibility to personally bring this genuine passenger concern to your attention. Sometimes a relatively small operational change can make a very big difference to thousands of travellers.
