With only a few months left until its release, I'm wondering how close #GodzillaMinusOne is to the original 1954 #Godzilla film. If it is a prequel or remake, let us hope it'll be an amazing recreation of the first film and as epic as this is!

Speed is as close to “perfect” as an action film can get. Keanu Reeves is insane for handling some of these stunts himself. The magic of this film is its pacing- there is never a moment of reprieve, never a moment where Dennis Hopper lets up. This film is fucking relentless.

#Haiwaan is a must-watch for thriller lovers. It is also a must-watch for those who haven’t watched #Oppam, as well as for those who have watched the original, because this one has a different climax twist. People who write off the film just because of its remake tag, as well as those who judge and review a film based on its advance bookings and opening-day collections, should not watch it. #HaiwaanReview

Should "RRR" be labelled as a Telugu film or an Indian film? This is what our parliamentarians debated in the House today.

if this movie isn’t india’s official submission to the oscars this year then maybe we deserve to be cooked as an industry. this is the most ORIGINAL film of the year.

Harrison Ford’s performance in the remake of Sabrina is vintage ‘90s Ford & another rare example of a remake done right. This film, directed by Sydney Pollack, is a remake from Billy Wilder’s 1954 film, but remade with a little style & a little taste. Having Ford definitely helps

A young 22-year-old Marilyn Monroe sings “Anyone Can See I Love You” in the 1948 film “Ladies of the Chorus”. It is considered the first major film role of her career. It was thought of as a “B” film by Columbia at the time of its release, with a runtime of just over one hour. It was shot in only ten days.

Holy shit- last night TCM showed a documentary on the making of the legendary lost Jerry Lewis film "The Day The Clown Cried" - This is probably as close to a finished version any of us will ever see. Here’s a few clips for those who dare to watch. It's as crazy as its reputation

STRAWMAN: THE NATURE OF THE CAGE John K. Webster Here is a deep dive documentary that took 18 months of research to complete this film. No stone is left unturned. By the end of this film you will be well informed of the legal fiction that has been used to manipulate our society. “A minority is powerless while it conforms to the majority; it is not even a minority then; but it is irresistible when it clogs by its whole weight. If the alternative is to keep all just men in prison, or give up war and slavery, the State will not hesitate which to choose. If a thousand men were not to pay their tax bills this year, that would not be a violent and bloody measure, as it would be to pay them, and enable the State to commit violence and shed innocent blood. This is, in fact, the definition of a peaceable revolution, if any such is possible.” – Henry David Thoreau, Civil Disobedience

The First “Killer Robot” ever seen. Mechanical Man (1921) is an Italian science fiction film from the silent era. It is an interesting and rare film. It prominently features a robot as it's primary antagonist, or at least as a part of the primary antagonist. The robot is controlled remotely by a nefarious operator. At the end of the film she is defeated when she is separated from the remote control. While this movie may have the first killer robot on film. The debate on the first movie robot is a difficult one to put to rest. If the definition of a robot is stretched much earlier movies feature some kind of artificially intelligent machine. There are also a few lost serials and films which featured some kind of robotic creature from the 1910s, I have found a source I am investigating for these films.

Westworld as a TV adaptation went way beyond the original film, especially in season 1. It took a simple sci-fi premise and turned it into a layered maze of identity, memory, and free will. That first season is as close to perfect tv as the story ever got.

Nobody can say whether a film is a success or a failure, but we can say we will be happy by the end of this film. If not, we won't release the film. #SingGeetham

US President Trump: "The problem with the Tomahawk, a lot of people don't know it, it'll take a minimum of six months, usually a year, to learn how to use them. They're highly complex. So the only way the Tomahawk is gonna be shoot is as if we shoot it, and we're not gonna do that... It takes a year of intense training to learn how to use it. We know how to use it, and we're not gonna be teaching other people."

George Clooney says “the director is the painter and everything else is the paint” while delivering a masterclass at the Venice Film Festival: “An actor only affects [a film] as much as the director decides. I can change any actor’s performance as a director.” Clooney recalled filming “The Thin Red Line” with director Terrence Malick in Australia for months, only to be “completely cut out beside the last scene.”
