@DaviMarvelous I was a COBOL programmer in the 1990’s. Leading up to Y2K, COBOL programmers were making $50-$75/hour. Until a flood of H1B visa holders from India came, working for $15-$20/hour, pushed wages down & put thousands of Americans on the unemployment line.

It isn't just in the private arena. What people also don't realize is that a plethora of immigrants are coming here on H1B visas to work for corporations as contractors on federal government contracts. 💙💙💙

In 1990, Democrats and Republicans alike were patting themselves on the back. The legislation, introduced by a Democrat, passed easily and was signed into law by President George H.W. Bush.

You forgot to mention one very important consequence of H1B. Not only does it allow corporations to pay people less and make more profit, it also floods the worker market and drives down wages for everybody else.
