Supreme Court Decision on ADC Should Not Warrant Celebration, Nothing Has Been Decided - Maduabuchi The ADC had no business at the Supreme Court. There was no appealable decision by the Federal High Court. The Court of Appeal overstepped its bounds by making an order no one sought. In reaching the proper decision that there was no valid appeal by the David Mark faction, the Court of Appeal went a step further and ordered that the _status quo_ be maintained. That was wrong. When INEC, acting on the Court of Appeal’s order, removed David Mark, it was on solid ground. The Appellate Court’s order was to maintain _status quo ante bellum_, not _status quo_. Oba Maduabuchi, SAN

Today's judgement is an opportunity for PDP to reconcile, but if they decide to go to the Supreme Court, it won't augur well for the party. If they insist on going to the Supreme Court, we'll be ready for them. We won all nine appeals against them today in court, and each comes with N2m cost totalling N18m against them - FCT Minister Nyesom Wike reacts after his faction of PDP won nine appeals filed against them by the Makinde-backed Turaki faction

Hon, Leke Abejide, was the only elected member of ADC to represent the Yagba Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives since 2019, and was re-elected for a second term in 2023. In 2025 after the party was hijacked, he was expelled by the faction of the party aligned with David Mark. However, a rival faction loyal to Nafiu Bala rejected the expulsion, describing it as an attempt to seize control of the party. Was it also Tinubu that ask Atiku, Peter obi and David mark to expel the only ADC elected member?

As expected, the National Treasury will lodge an appeal challenging the High Court judgement that nullified the US$1.9 billion partial divestiture from Safaricom Plc. CS Mbadi says the National Treasury is studying the full judgement closely & will shortly set out the grounds on which it deems judicial review of the judgement to be necessary.

STATEMENT FROM THE LABOUR PARTY Abure rejects Appeal Court decision, Heads to Supreme Court Excerpt of his statement. We have seen what transpired today at the Appeal Court and we want to say very clearly that the judgement is not acceptable to all of us in the Labour Party led by my humble self. I want to say very clearly that the judgement is against all known principles of law. The courts, the Supreme Courts and all courts in Nigeria have stated very clearly that the issues of leadership of a political party is an internal affairs of a political party. It is also not true and I disagree when people say that the tenure of this executive has expired. That is untrue and very unacceptable to us. Nigerians will recall that on the 27th of March 2024, we had a valid convention that was held in Nnewi and that convention is still valid and subsisting for 4 years. I want to say that the court today didn't look at that before arriving at the conclusion that the tenure has expired. I must also say clearly that the Umuahia meeting which produced the Caretaker Committee was also against the Labour Party constitution. It is only the National Chairman and National Secretary of a Political Party who has the power to convene any NEC meeting of any of sort. I want to say very clearly that we are going to appeal that decision. Today's decision of the Appeal Court is not acceptable to us and we reject it in its entirety. We have put our legal team together and we are going to file an appeal and move to the Supreme Court. Thank you and God bless you. Sign: Barrister Julius Abure National Chairman Labour Party. 21/04/2026

VIDEO: LP Factional Leader, Apapa, Booed Outside Appeal Court The factional leader of the Labour Party, Lamidi Apapa, was on Wednesday booed outside the Appeal Court in Abuja, the venue for the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal. The opposing LP faction outside the court was screaming, ‘Ole’ (loosely translated as a thief), ‘Imposter’ etc., as Apapa’s supporters led him away from them. This was as the party factions clashed and tried to attack Apapa, who was barricaded by the police. The drama happened shortly after the opposing faction in the LP leadership crisis resisted journalists who tried to interview Apapa.
