I diched my plastic boards for splinter free bamboo!

I use a samurai sword and just cut all my meat in the air.

How real life was replaced by plastic and chemicals and now we wonder about health issues everywhere. 🔶 Cotton → Polyester 🔶 Brass & steel → Plastic 🔶 Whole foods → Ultra-processed foods 🔶 Fresh meals → Foods with months-long shelf life 🔶 Natural oils → Refined seed oils 🔶 Simple soaps → Fragrance-loaded products 🔶 Natural cleaners → Chemical sprays 🔶 Clay, glass → Plastic containers 🔶 Sun & movement → Screens & sitting

I guess the same applies for wooden spatulas/spoons?

Most people have no idea how much plastic they’re actually eating -> micro amounts every day from their cutting boards, water bottles, food containers, packaging. And it adds up. Plastic isn’t neutral. It’s an endocrine disruptor. It alters hormones. It affects fertility. It accumulates. And the irony? Wood: the thing people fear for being “harder to clean” -> is naturally antibacterial. Nature designed it that way. It dries out. It kills off microbes. No synthetic chemicals needed. Choosing a wood cutting board is one of those rare decisions where: ✔ You make it once ✔ It costs almost nothing ✔ It improves multiple dimensions of your health for years Simple. Effective. Forgotten. Just like most of the good advice in life. 🐇👁️🌞☯️

Bamboo is grass laminated with glue. Hardwood boards actually self-heal and protect your edge. Maple, walnut, cherry — boring, proven, better. @paulsaladinomd let me know if you need a custom one!

What about the new titanium (metal) cutting boards? Surely all those accounts selling these on Tiktok from China can't be lying, can they?

People in my life try and argue that plastic is better from a sanitation perspective. Now I know that is not true

I couple of years ago I bought a huge end grain cutting board. 3'x2'. it lives on our kitchen island and is used every singel day. One of the best purchases Ive made.

what about bamboo? also, almost every commercial kitchen i deliver to uses plastic cutting boards, they have dozens of them, even the hospital kitchens use them, wth?

Eating more microplastics? Yeah no. Wood. Always. Bamboo preferably

People with outhouses using untreated wood for the seat/hole have known this forever.

Boiling tea kettle should sterilize the wood, we've never had issues with the bamboo ones, and if they break? Buy a new one, they're cheap.

None of them! Both of them BS! Everything is BS

wood always wood. plastic bad wood good ugg ugg

Wood for sure I don’t want plastic in my nuts

Wood cannot be sterilized.

WOOD WOOD WOOD

In 2009 I had to argue with a health inspector in my juice bar because I refused to use plastic cutting boards. I even got fined - and insisted on my wooden boards. When they threatened me with closure I had to give in…

What about glass?

Get rid of plastic cups, plates, cutting boards, and bowls. Microplastics are horrible for the human body.

We threw the plastic out and got titanium cutting boards. We still have a large wood cutting board but have it put away.

Always choose wood.

What about polystyrene?

Didn't know that, the microplastics alone was enough for me to not want a plastic one.

I dishwash my wood cutting board😏

Neither, both are bad Glass or steel

I’m very happy with my bamboo cutting board, but here in Italy are forbidden in production places (shops, restaurants). And plastic cutting boards are almost mandatory. Always found stupid. Thank you

Gee I wonder
