How much soil loss do you anticipate over the winter?

I suppose when you have 6’ of top soil it’s not a concern? Not my farm but the land is fairly heavy.

@MarkJKenney Notice he deflected rather than answer the question. I expect there's a reason they call it a joker

@rydixon_ @MarkJKenney They're an aptly named tool

@KevinFo75590535 @MarkJKenney Super versatile, just like the joker in a game of cards 🃏

@KevinFo75590535 @MarkJKenney What makes modern Jokers versatile? Can you change gang angle for a different finish? When they 1st came out and we demoed one, it couldn't even handle 220 corn trash without plugging. Plus, like ALL discs, the compaction layer they make is like a road grader.

@KevinFo75590535 @MarkJKenney We are on Gen 5 of the American Joker. Every generation got longer arms and more distance between the gangs. We handle 250-270bu no problem

Doing a demo. Very impressed.

I think your machines do a great job but I have to say, the yield component is not what makes it hard to till. The size of the plant and branching on plant as well as how much time, heat and rain we have had to break down the stubble both have more affect than yield on tillage.

Thank you for your service, with these west winds maybe Indy soil will actually be better, it’s truly garbage out there but they act like it’s not.

The no-till crowd will be triggered.😆

May help if you go faster. :)

What happens when you hit a rock?

Not many rocks big enough to do any damage in this area.

who's liable when the dust from the field gets someone killed?

What does this rig have spring packers/baskets compared to the older jokers?

It has the Ringflex, standard option here in the corn belt

Love our joker, does a great job. Packer leaves a something to be desired when wet in our soil types though which was the reason for the question. If you plug it you may as well just go walk into oncoming traffic rather than dealing with it.
