Working on a design for a living building facade system - integrated green wall & rainwater capture, 3D-printed from 100% post-consumer plastic. This material has been tricky to perfect, but I’m getting there. Cheap & durable enough for building-scale outdoor applications.

I installed the first big outdoor green wall in NYC at the upper east side Pure Yoga. The wall was 4 stories tall making access to its face challenging. Maintenance is really needed weekly at a minimum and the lack of built-in access led to high costs and an unhealthy wall.

Yes totally matches what I’ve seen. My goal here with the design is that the green facade is supported with water & nutrients from the large soil mass at the core pf the wall; basically like building-integrated hugelkultur.
