Working on something fun, and hopefully extremely useful. Y Combinator

Does founders too:

@ycombinator @aaayandev made something really cool that does something like this, should talk to him!

@ycombinator Jevmaxx

@ycombinator Jevuseful

@ycombinator Not in YC but we make companies secure.

@ycombinator Reminds me of a vector search app

Yeah but instead powered by something more flexible than a vector search 😅 It'll likely combine those things though over time. The biggest issue with vector search is labelling and vector pollution. For the first time ever it's not a full time job maintaining that thanks to decision and LLM based decision models.

@ycombinator Fun!

@ycombinator Jev?

@ycombinator Part of it yeah. The most expensive part 😅

@ycombinator This seems interesting 👀

@ycombinator appears fun, likely shaves hours off data retrieval for founders

@ycombinator It's more useful than Data retrieval, you can ask anything and it'll make an 'intelligent' answer with confidence for every company. "Would like to go Surfing." For example will find people who surf and people who will likely like surfing based on their other interests.

@ycombinator Would it let me pitch my b2b to a specific Team member or is that a dangerously grey zone...

It would let you ask who would buy your product, and give you a ranked listing yes. I've tested this less but it works pretty well. Only example I've tested is 'would find a graph database useful' and it worked very well. It only shares public data so if it shares founder socials / company emails they are listed on their website pages / other public places. There's no dangerous grey area, beyond, don't spam people, which you could do anyway.

@ycombinator Love seeing building in public like this with real workflow demos! Shipping tooling directly tailored for founders and the YC ecosystem solves such an obvious pain point.

@ycombinator How you write like that 😭🥀

@ycombinator Swipe typing? Isn't it built into everything now? I originally used it ... What maybe a decade ago with @SwiftKey but now its built in to (at least) the Google keyboard. I know @theo is a swipe typer maybe he can confirm if it's first party on iOS.

@ycombinator @SwiftKey @theo Yes its already built in but i rarely see anyone type like that

@ycombinator Hmm it needs to be a bit faster, could it go through companies in parralel

It goes through companies / founders in parallel. This is using the max parallel rate limit with Jev as the largest bottleneck. If someone makes a cached query, and the company / founder / additional data hasn't changed (still cached), the response is basically instant. This is the slowest possible example and given what it's actually doing, it's crazy fast. This isn't search. It's deciding whether the company or founder matches the statement given. You could ask... "which company is most likely to go to space", and it'll likely pull out pharma companies (in addition to the space companies) to use microgravity for superior drug manufacturing.

Did this to show you. I did this search on another machine and then did it here so the query is in the cache. You can see it's 'instant'. (Also enjoy light mode! It's daytime for once.) The confidence is lower than you'd expect because, it's hard for Jev to predict if they'll succeed. I need to add more public news data so it can make decisions inclusive of performance and news about said companies.

@ycombinator Why just look at YC companies instead of all companies that do a thing. Maybe build on Crunchbase.

I'm very familiar with the YC ecosystem. It allows me to build this product better and to have a better idea on how correct it is. It's also useful for me 😅 This tooling is (perhaps) interestingly enough, completely vertical agnostic. I'm likely going to build something similar for Custodian, one of my companies for car searching / comparisons. There's no reason this couldn't work across a broader subset of data. Would scale just fine to and many common queries could be pre-cached and similar queries could use each others caches. All things which are easily doable later.

@ycombinator What’s bringing you most of your leads right now?

@ycombinator Leads? I don't need leads. I have bottomless dealflow if you're talking about access and investing.

@ycombinator Very interesting! I want to try it.

@ycombinator Hopefully @typesafeai will reply to my email and sponsor it. It will be expensive to run to start with as the cache builds up for all queries and as the dataset grows from company updates and history in the news.

@OswaldFaust2 @ycombinator @typesafeai @typesafeai reply the man

@OswaldFaust2 @ycombinator @typesafeai It's weekend it's all chill. 😅

@ycombinator do this with google graveyard loool

@ycombinator "Which of these products was the most stupid to have killed?" Google Reader.

@ycombinator Performative writing

@ycombinator I don't know about that. If you knew me, and what I generally do you'd know that I'm probably far less performative than I probably should be. For a telepath, I'd expect you to know that, Shin ;)
