Today, on César Chávez Day, we remember his noble efforts to organize the United Farm Workers movement in their fight for the rights of those who harvest our food. His legacy lives on in every fiber of our state's agricultural fabric, ensuring equal protections for all workers.

On Friday night we burned away all the gloom and doom. Who has the power? The people have the power! No kings now or ever again. I will continue to fight for our democracy.

“Gaza has drawn the line in the sand, Gaza has separated the right from the wrong, Gaza has clarified our role, our responsibility, our life’s mission. It has shown us that the fight for Palestine is not just a fight for the future of the Palestinian people. It is a fight for the future of all of humanity and the planet. —Taher Dahleh, PYM #MarchOnWashington #April5

When we march with our friends, the teachers, the rail workers, the health workers, the civil servants & the postal workers, we’re also marching for those in poverty. We’re marching for those who are hungry. And we’re marching for the next generation.

Today is a historic day for workers in Canada. The NDPs anti-scab legislation, that gives power back to workers - has passed third reading in Parliament. Now, workers have the power to fight for the respect they deserve. To the workers, unions, and labour activists who fought for this - thank you.

On this 61st anniversary of the Voting Rights Act, we honor John Lewis and every martyr who bled for the ballot. Their sacrifice is being desecrated by those who would weaken the right to vote. This is not a partisan moment—it is a movement moment for our democracy. The power of the people is still greater than the people in power.

This professor has defied the 76 million Americans who voted for President Donald J. Trump - to silence and belittle those in his class who voted for our next president. This is not the kind of behavior we want at LSU and our universities.
