I recently had the opportunity to speak at a 10-year celebration event honoring the collaboration between The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Guru Nanak Darbar Gurudwara in Dubai. Thanks to a joint effort with our good friends, Dr. Surender Singh Kandhari and Dr. Bubbles Kandhari, The Church of Jesus Christ has had the honor to participate in meaningful service to bless the lives of those in need by providing meals to the hungry. We look forward to continuing the collaboration with this gurudwara for years to come.

After meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu during a recent visit to the region, Cindy McCain, executive director of the UN’s World Food Programme, says a cease-fire in Gaza and “unfettered” access at scale for humanitarian aid workers is “the only way” to feed people there. “We have, in recent weeks, been able to get a little more food in,” McCain says. “But it's not enough. It simply isn't enough to be able to do the job and stop malnutrition, starvation, and all the things that have occurred as a result of it.”

Nelson gave a talk encouraging the membership of the church and the general public to address the church by its full and proper name. “Joseph Smith did not name the Church restored through him; neither did Mormon. It was the Savior Himself who said, ‘For thus shall my church be called in the last days, even The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.’” This name isn’t new. One of the Church’s largest recycling efforts is at the Print Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located in Salt Lake City, Utah. The Print Center produces a wide range of materials in a variety of languages, including Church magazines, copies of the Book of Mormon, handbooks, manuals, pamphlets and even sacrament cups. Beyond their spiritual and educational significance, these materials also carry a sacred responsibility of care and stewardship, following divine guidance from the First Presidency. “For me, it is a very touching thing to think that our Creator has given so much responsibility to man,” said Gérald Caussé, Presiding Bishop of the Church. “As we live upon the earth, we have that responsibility to care for what He created for us.
