Never understood the pre-jump steps technique. I play basketball and short steps generate more acceleration before jump then those large. Some Olympic techniques are mystery to me :)

At a British Masters event, we measured each section of his jump out on the track. The distance between each one is ridiculous when you look at it.

Pretty good springs for a triple jumper...I triple jumped in college and definitely didn't spring up and forward like this guy...more forward springing so my spring was sprung by the 3rd jump

Not only that, since this jump happened only 2 people have ever even jumped past that 18m mark that he blew away.

That's insane. It's not a record like '10 F1 titles' that is reliant on other stuff, just pure athleticism. It will get broken one day but the guy is a legend.
