Many Black Americans and democrats complain about lack of opportunities in these areas but never seem to want to talk about why that might be and how to fix it without government subsidies.. People don't like a bunch of crime. That's hostile to businesses..You need to incentivize people to want to come work and open businesses in your area. Having a bunch of crime will do the opposite of that..

Johnson criticized Democrats for demanding the extension of those subsidies before they negotiate to reopen the government, saying those subsidies don’t expire until Dec. 31, giving lawmakers time to debate reforms: “We have time to do it.” Asked whether he wants the tax credits to be extended at a future date, he added, “No, I haven’t staked out a position on it yet.”

They stuck their heads in the sand for the entirety of a 30 day government shutdown where we were urging them to come to a solution on extensions of premium subsidies. I just don't understand why we don't prevent a lot of people from suffering by doing a clean extension of these subsidies.

It really shouldn't be that difficult to strike a deal between Republicans and Democrats to reopen our government. Compromise isn't a dirty word. As elected leaders, it's what you're expected to do. The voters will reward you. What I'd say to each of them is: Republicans: You've already said you're willing to work on the Obamacare subsidies, just do it now to get a deal done. Democrats: Focus on securing a solution for the subsidies and debate the larger agenda issues during the midterm elections next year.

Hogg used his time on CNN to blame Republicans for the government shutdown, even accusing Scott Jennings of not caring about people in his home state on ACA subsidies. He was silenced pretty quickly. MANCHIN: "If you don't get a handle on this, you're never gonna get a hand on inflation. We knew it was a runaway train, had to be fixed. The deal that was made, the extension on that was made, okay, if you can't get it done, you got one more year to get it down. Oh, let's not do it in one year. That's an election year. We need two years. They knew it had to be fixed. Everybody knew it has to be fix and nobody wants to do it. There's going to have to be a hybrid of this, Jacqui. The people on the low end of the totem pole that are working, people between $25,000 and $50,000 of income working themselves off of welfare.
