I doubt this will ever be implemented. Many accidents happen during landing and takeoff or under other circumstances that make that design useless. It will also add a lot of weight, complexity and cost. Considering that air travel is generally very safe it's not worth it

It helps a lot, as long as it doesn't detach by technical fault and drop the passengers in a war zone.

Great technology! The pilots will be the sacrificial lambs.

The majority of airplane crashes happen during takeoff and landing. In such cases, this detachable cabin won't have the room to operate.

Great technology!

Technology is there to make it happen.

What about the Cockpit appears as if they will not detach.

That'd be a good piece of engineering, but , I am concerned about the welfare of the pilots too. What happens to them?

I didn't hear properly does it say the passenger section will be able to detach and leave the cock-pit section alone? How many pilots will be willing to die alone?
