I used to do that 5 times a week - nobody is getting paid $20k to climb towers.

I would hire someone else to do it for $ 10k and pocket the rest.

I used to do that in the early 2000’s. I started at $13.00 per hour…. Claim to fame, tallest tower i climbed was 1000ft in maryville, Indiana. The coolest job was working on one of the antennas on top of the john hancock building in chicago.

I know a couple of guys who'd do it for $50 and a case of Bud Light

Why do they build towers so high? The earth is flat you don't need them that high!

I would get 50 feet up and have to get rescued. 🥺

Tower climber here.. This is completely false. He probably gets paid $25 an hour. I started out climbing for $18 an hour. Also, He has to do way more than just replacing a light bulb.

I'd climb it for the view. $20k would be a bonus.

They don't make that much. "Antenna maintenance workers, or tower climbers, typically earn between $30,000 to $35,000 annually, but this can increase significantly based on experience, location, and the complexity of the work, potentially reaching up to $80,000 for specialized roles. The pay reflects the risks and skills required for such high-altitude tasks."

Absolutely 💯 Used to climb part time and do antenna work. The big towers are actually the most fun and solid. Did some smaller ones that suuuuucked. (Sketchy) They're almost always beautiful at the top, can see for miles.

I can’t believe it takes him six months to climb that. Where’s his food?

I work with heights daily. It might look sketch but we’re all highly trained. We know when it’s safe to go up or not.

@NobodymrRobert Nope, not even strapped into a six point harness if there's even such a thing. Climbed a electrical tower as a kid, lost my balance about 12 feet up, cured me of my stupidity really fast.

I highly doubt he gets paid that much. His company may, but he doesn’t. Lol.

Looks like.... 6 weeks of electronics, climbing safety, physical conditioning followed by 2 years of meteorology courses because lining up the perfect day for a climb is important AF
