The mindless, unplanned, chaotic road digging in Mumbai has upended the life of lakhs of residents. The city now resembles an archaeological dig rather than a well planned metropolis. Only 266 road concretisation projects have been completed whereas 930 roads are dug up across the city. This has made daily commute miserable for Mumbaikars. Today, as part of our #NoCorruptionMeriGullyMein citizens' campaign, I visited Road No. 19 and 20 in Khar- a textbook example of the shoddy, unplanned work plaguing Mumbai. Shockingly, the work order for these roads was issued in January 2023, yet work only began in October 2024. Since then, progress has crawled at a snail’s pace. The deadline of May 2025 looms ahead and we will now see hurried, shoddy execution of work. Here is what we observed while walking through all the rubble lying around : 🚧 Roads have been dug up so recklessly that there is no space to walk. Many senior citizens reside here, and schools are nearby, yet no proper provisions have been made for pedestrians. 🚧 Work has been dragging on intermittently for months, with residents frequently facing water and electricity disruptions. 🚧 Some stretches have been half-completed, while the other half remains in a dangerously dug-up state, leaving no room to walk. 🚧 In some parts, one has to get inside the compounds of housing societies to be able to walk ahead, affecting privacy and safety of residents. 🚧 No responsible person was present at the site. The माझी Mumbai, आपली BMC had promised that engineers will be available on road concretisation sites but we didn't find anyone. My questions to the माझी Mumbai, आपली BMC and this anti people government: 🚩 Mumbaikars were promised concretised roads by 2025, but all we are getting is dug up roads and chaos? While contractors have profiteered, Mumbaikars are enduring the pain? Who will be held accountable for these delays and the chaos? 🚩 Why should citizens put up with roads mindlessly dug up all across Mumbai? 🚩 Why is Mumbaikars tax money being wasted by digging, re-digging and patching up newly made roads? 🚩 Why are water and electricity connections being disrupted by contractors frequently without any consequences? Who takes responsibility for this? 🚩 Why aren't contractors being penalised heavily for delays and disruptions? 🚩 Why isn't the माझी Mumbai, आपली BMC and the state government taking responsibility for the mess created? Why has no official been pulled up for this? Mumbaikars need answers, do not test their patience. #ReclaimOurRoads #MumbaiRoads #Mumbai #Concretisation #MumbaiDeservesBetter M.N.C.D.F Craters of Mumbai (Potholes ka Parivar) Roads of Mumbai मुंबई Matters™🇮🇳 Bandra Community bandranews_com Bandra Buzz Bandra Youth group

Potholes, BMC apathy take yet another life! Two days ago Arun Tiwari went to get petrol filled at around 10 pm. While returning home through the badly lit stretch near Mumbai University post office, he hit a pothole and lost his balance. Before he could steady himself, a BEST bus hit him from behind. Tiwari was taken to VN Desai hospital. He had already lost a lot of blood already. His family requested that he be given an oxygen cylinder and also asked for an ambulance to take him to Lilavati for further treatment. VN Desai hospital, a BMC hospital, didn't have an oxygen cylinder to spare. The family had to wait for an ambulance for more than half an hour. When he was eventually taken to Lilavati, they could not save him as he had lost most of the blood in his body. The entire stretch of road near Mumbai University from Vakola upto Kurla sees several accidents every week due to potholes. The maintenance of the stretch suffers while BMC and MMRDA continue to spar over whose jurisdiction it is. Meanwhile people keep dying. After Arun's death, it was left to locals to put gunny bags over the pothole as a temporary measures, none of the authorities were around. Arun Tiwari was a victim of systemic apathy. Potholes, a road without proper lighting, a BMC hospital that did not have an ambulance or oxygen cylinder on standby - at every step, Arun Tiwari was left to fend for himself with his dying breath. Arun Tiwari, Ramdhan Yadav, Soham Khatre...to this government they are mere statistics. I demand that the urban development minister Eknath Shinde - एकनाथ शिंदे step in and immediately fix this issue of handover of road maintenance between माझी Mumbai, आपली BMC and MMRDA so that the maintenance of SCLR, CST Road, Hans Bhugra road and other roads in the Kalina Vakola stretch is done regularly. The area should be lit up well. Arun Tiwari's family must get justice. #Pothole #Accident #Mumbai

This is the video of the BBC News Hindi report on our startup in Bangalore We build extremely weather resilient, super strong, for protected, thermally efficient buildings with a raw material that is an environmental menace - the non recyclable single use plastic waste. The buildings are very cool. The speed of construction is phenomenal. Almost the entire work is done offsite -at our factory. The panels then are transported to site and installed. We construct 1,000 sqft homes within 10 days. We hand over a hotel room every 10 hours. At the #VTU -Visveswaraya Technological University in Hubballi, we built 8 rooms inside a large hall within 3 days. We do NOT USE WATER, SAND, CEMENT, BRICKS or STEEL in our walls both off site and in site. For multi storeyed buildings, one can build the structural framework with RCC or Steel framework. Ui walls can then be quickly mounted. It replaces the brick and mortar/ concrete block work. The Bison boards are fastened to the wall surfaces after installation - that provides the fire rating protection. The walls are built with shredded packets made of MLP. These MLPs are thermally insulating, does not absorb water, does not allow fungus (green and black moss) or termites and borers to settle on the Ui walls because it Offers NO nutrition to the parasites ( in a conventional construction riverbed sand and raw water used in construction have live microbial beings in them. The parasites stick to these walls to feed on it) The thermal insulation properties reduces energy bills of air conditioning buildings built with Ui walls up to 60%. Excellent material for shopping stores, showrooms, classrooms, homes, halls, office, Airbnb homes etc. You may contact us at: E Mail: [email protected] Ph: +91 9886339775

While Peter Obi has every right to use his personal funds as he pleases, it’s important to state that the statistics being stated here inaccurate. The figures attributed to the North West, North East, South East, South South, South West and even North Central do not reflect facts of his donations. For instance, in the North East, the donation to Chibok School alone included far more than the ₦6 million you listed. In a single visit, he provided: ₦6 million in cash, A fully equipped computer lab, A science laboratory, 10 brand new laptops and 3 brand new printers. Similarly, in Adamawa State, same North East, on June 4, 2025, Peter Obi donated 11 laptops and 3 printers to the IDP school managed by the Bishop in the State. In Taraba, financial support was extended to families affected by violent attacks and killings. And in Kaduna, donations made just this year alone totals approximately ₦115 million, not including the relief packages distributed during the Sallah celebrations. I am sure there are a lot of donations in Abuja not captured like the IDP camp which he visits. From the information available to you, you have captured just ₦576 million of his donations this year alone, which is hugely underreported especially as regards some zones, not to mention donations not reported. In as much as these values are extremely inaccurate and diminishes the scale of Peter Obi’s genuine efforts in each zone, you have done well in trying to show his love of giving. Thank you.

Barry Sternlicht gives an insightful view about the challenges of real estate right now - and how to still make a lot of money in the current environment Here's what he said: "I think people, as they always do, tend to look in the rear view mirror and they look at a suboptimal performance of the real estate asset class across the last 3-4 years. Nvidia goes up a trillion dollars in four months. Like the hot kids on the block are everything AI, everything chatbot, etc... There are meme stocks that go from zero to $7 a share on a tweet. Crypto - there's worthless coins with $20+ billion dollar market caps. There's a coin called Useless. It's [literally] useless. It debuted in March 2025 and it went to a $700 million value. And the coin says "we are completely useless" In real estate people get rich but it's boring. You get rich holding on to it over long periods of time. It's not a day trading asset. The country right now is very impatient. So people want to play the hot thing. Real estate looks sort of sad in your portfolio right now. The only thing it beats is treasuries. And even then, it's not even beaten that. But you'll do well picking properties in the right cities... Everything is micro in real estate. For example, I built a building in South Beach. The first lease was $54. It's on the beach, and nobody built a new office building in 20+ years. We leased it up in the pandemic. It's 100% leased. A tenant actually needs to grow, and they called us last week. They're paying $125 and we'll re-lease it at $175. I mean, you can still make a lot of money if you get the micro market right."
