Whoa .. that's pretty awesome actually but what if a student creates a rough draft in another format / before cutting and pasting into the final format for submission? Then what??

You could also just have ai write the whole thing up on another screen. Just to type it yourself into that one

This isn’t probing anything personal or out of bounds. It’s actually necessary to be sure it was organically produced. The last thing we need is to hand over degrees to people who didn’t do the work. Especially in the sciences that that have real world implications.

I want to be mad, but I can't. I'm actually grateful that they can catch AI work that concretely. It's not a guess, or estimation, when you can see keystrokes. This means the students who work on MERIT get seen. The cut and pasty losers... also get seen.

Don't go to college. Learn to do something. Learn to build, fix, and create. Most of the bullshit paper-pushing jobs will be done by AI. BTW, I'm using AI to fix my shitty typing, so I would probably fail that jackass's course. Half of my family taught at college. Scary. Those who can't...

AI checkers for writing, zerogpt specifically, have insanely high false positive rates and routinely flag tightly written content as automatically AI.

Okay, so still have AI write it but then just type it out yourself and make some intentional errors that you go back and correct yourself.

That's called a keylogger.. usually reserved for divorces and viruses. and usually, you have no control over it if you even know its running and it never stops.

This would be sook fucking easy to fake. A copilot subscription to create a virtual keyboard that types out its answers to questions using Ai but including those human errors and changes randomly. Then you fill the prompt, and walk away as the output program slowly types out the Ai response.

At this point they'll just go back to only accepting papers written on paper with a typewriter🤭 we've over shot the tech folks. Back to the beginning😆

When teaching they tell us to use AI to write our lesson plans? Like bro, it's the future. Don't go to college, learn a trade. At this point why stop them? COLLEGE IS OVER! EDUCATION NEEDS AN OVERHAUL!

SMH So we have this amazing break-through human-advancing high-speed technology, but instead of using it, we want to ignore it and just go with human output. Same thing happened when calculators and computers first emerged. This will die quickly and evolve to appear insane.

AI is a useful tool, why should you punish students that perform better because they use a calculator? They’re allowed calculators in the real world!

I could see having a feature that detects obvious AI, but this is way too much. That's also what bugs me so much about leftism - they always go too far.

Would be good if teachers actually taught critically thinking, verifying sources and truth seeking instead of just rote memorization and procedure, but you can't teach what you don't know I guess.

This is how my daughter’s professor grades her paper. She freaks out about how she edits because she has to prove it’s natural. Sometimes it can be wrong. Lots of stress writing the paper. Also the professor seems to grade with AI which is complete BS. If she can’t use it they shouldn’t either!

😱😳 This is how I had to do it, man. Things are crazy. I think if the ideas stem from the student and AI refines it, they should be allowed to use it.

Type your paper off line. The take the finished paper and copy it into a new file. There won't be any logs, history or revisions.

🚨Massive potential privacy issue. Let's say a student pastes from clipboard — but the pasted text was from a private chat or image. The student quickly corrects their mistake, and finishes the paper — not realizing that the mistakenly pasted text or image is in fact preserved.
