What role does AI play here?

Sorry, lost you at the word ‘AI’ 😂

This isn’t AI; it’s just basic automation dressed up for marketing. • Recognition of inputs: Identifying veggies, bones, or “what shouldn’t go in” likely uses simple sensors (like cameras with basic image processing) or weight/moisture detectors. No machine learning required—just predefined rules like “if it looks bony, add more carbon.” That’s not AI; it’s if-then programming from the 1950s. • Auto-tuning the mix: “Tuning” the carbon ratio? That’s a feedback loop, probably a PID controller (proportional-integral-derivative)—a staple in engineering for decades. It adjusts based on sensors, not “learning” from data like true AI (e.g., neural nets). • Regulating temp/moisture/airflow: Continuous control to avoid smells/pests? Again, standard environmental controls via thermostats, humidistats, and fans. Microbes thrive in a “sweet spot”? Sure, but that’s biology + basic automation, not AI optimizing via algorithms that evolve over time. Companies love slapping “AI” on everything to boost sales—it’s the new “smart” or “eco-friendly.” Real AI involves training models on vast datasets to predict or adapt unpredictably. This? Just a scripted machine doing its job.

If it cant sort waste then i dont see the point of ai, if only wet waste goes in there, its a glorified composter

By spending ₹5,000 crs, the government can give one such unit to every household in Bengaluru. After that by not spending money on garbage problems, the money can be recovered in a few years. Only street cleaning and bulk generators need attention

Wow. Brilliant! I think he should make these large machines and sell it to municipalities . Municipalities must pay house owners for depositing waste as this waste can be converted to organic manure.

"AI" just thrown in to cover some if/else code blocks 🤡

Two plastic drums is all that is need to compost kitchen waste. This is a typical case of over engineering.

I guess it will end up more like a cockroach infestation/colony more than an usable biowaste...n to get rid of the roaches you will bomb the hell out of it with chemicals, at which point it is anything but natural.🤔 *Constructive Critique Here*

AI is just for making it catchy with the trend!

Usually, the wet waste in kitchen is biodegradable. No matter where it goes, eventually it’s gonna decompose and weather. @grok anything wrong with my analogy?

What a bunch of clowns . Put together a gear motor with crusher and call it AI ?

Wtf AI do in this ? Dumbest pitch ever. Just vision is not AI

Brilliant development but unless cost n availability is practical it may not make much headway in individual homes. Bengaluru has several RWA doing a good job in converting waste to compost but are unable to use it fully or monetize the produce.

Probably gonna buy. Steady supply of potting soil is definitely useful

Indeed good innovation. Maybe something like this should be made mandatory in apartment complexes

btw this feels like entire bangalore's identity too - collect garbage and then try and do something with it.

What was AI doing here other than being a marketing gimmick? AI has become Potato now. You can put it in almost anything. Plz use common sense before posting such content.

Wowo , sharing!! Is all for a while. This product will become biggest Garbage within few months.. with reasons like “too much of maintenance issue, other kind of flys and maggots issues, and this output also is another big waste.” Wake up 🇮🇳 .

What if the waste dept has this kind of machine instead of every individual. What will an individual do with the soil everyday.

Cost will matter...eventually if it's gonna sit in just a few households which can afford it then the problem of solving wet waste management from going into landfills won't be solved. In india a solution needs to be such that it reaches masses.
