Wow I’ve never seen this 9/11 video before. Found on r/911archive.

I've never seen this either. It's just wild to me that there's still footage I haven't seen. I watch the History channel allllll day every 9/11, and every single year I find out something I had never known before. The stories are seemingly endless.

I just watched another video I’d never previously seen. It was shot by a tourist from the 35th floor of the Millennium Hilton across from the WTC. It shows falling bodies landing. So terrible.

The documentary about the reporters who were filming a fire station that got called is probably the hardest thing I ever watched. It was published a few months later. People standing in the lobby listening to the thuds of others throwing themselves off to escape the flames. /1

I just saw a twenty-something interviewed about 9/11 and she looks at it as something that happened to other people. If she were MY child/relative I'd be pulling up the videos of people JUMPING to their deaths b/c that sight STAYS with you. She is NOT PISSED OFF Enough

I don’t think young people like her will ever truly understand what that day and its aftermath were like. The world was so different then.

there is just too much coddling of this generation. We were traumatized by 9/11 but we CAME together as a nation for many months! Until Obama became POTUS and the racists lost their minds

My dad came home on 9/11 with cuts all over his palms. When the first tower came down, him and his coworker were by the East River (instead of the Hudson River side like in this video) and had to run away from the smoke cloud.

I’m glad they made it out of there.

We kept a message from him on our answering machine from that day saying "hey, we heard a plane hit the tower. An announcement went out over the PA for us to stay at our desks because everything is safe but me and [coworker] don't think that's a good idea. We're leaving."

Basically everyone else at his job got stuck in their building when the dust cloud hit and had to walk out through it later while the two of them had put enough distance between them and the WTC to just have to run when the buildings collapsed without really breathing it in

He never got to go back to that office again; it was deemed unsafe. But the company actually made my dad the "volunteer" emergency coordinator for his floor in his new building in Jersey because of his instincts on 9/11 (which I don't think my dad was thrilled about tbh).

But, post-9/11, people kind of learned from experience: if there's an emergency, get out, even if people are telling you the building is safe.

🥹🥹 There were 150 private vessels on the Hudson River making rescues. I’ve seen parts of this video. Saw other videos made by boaters carrying ppl to NJ, Staten Island, up to Westchester. I’m actually grateful for no smartphones bc ppl would’ve been filming rather than helping

After watching the 2nd plane fly over our heads on the WSH we went into BPC. Grabbed a camera and as we headed uptown, we helped a burn victim from the towers to a Fire boat. Watched jumpers on Worth st and got a ride uptown, heard the tower collapse on car radio. Never Forget

You can see a 90 story high spire of the core/stairwells and elevator column still standing for a moment before it gets kicked out by the ground debris. Crazy.

Honestly this is why I could never live on an island. I can’t imagine being trapped there. I would have jumped in the water, I think.

Watching one of the buildings come down took me back to the break room at my old job. I had stopped to get a soda and looked at the TV. Shock and fear. Not understanding what just happened until I watched the news later that night.

I remember seeing this. Everyone who had a boat were ferrying as many a they could out of Manhattan all day.

Each year on the anniversary, I watch just about all the documentaries. This particular view I hadn’t seen before.

This shows the magnitude in an entirely different way. This footage says it all. There's no excuse to not know about 9/11, even if you were born after. No one born within 50 years of Pearl Harbor didn't know about it. What's wrong with the parents who saw 9/11 and kept silent?
