Not completely true. I-81, I-64, etc. They still follow the same odd/even rules, but not all end with 5 or 0.

Every Baby Boomer grew up using a Rand McNally Map to navigate directions. This highway numbering system is common knowledge to us. I still carry a RM map in my automobile as we speak.

What an amazing country we live in! God bless the United States of America🙏🏻🇺🇸💯

Before the Internet. We had to know this to navigate the US. We had fold out maps but they weren't ideal.

Just watch the OG explain it and not AI garbage.

I learned this information at a very young age when my Uncle taught me how to read a map. Years before GPS.😊

I knew this. Why? Because I love maps and geography. Without geography, you are nowhere. Nice post.

Thanks Vince. I had no idea. Wait a minute, did I just learn something non-toxic on X today?

They used to teach this in grade school. I have to believe our compulsory factory public skool system dumped basic navigation lessons along with geography … and history and math and science. At least they are convincing white kids to hate themselves and black kids that they are victims. MAKE PUBLIC EDUCATOR MALPRACTICE PUNISHABLE (again?)!! #MPEMPa

And many highways are designed to allow heavy aircraft to land and take off.

my papa taught me this decades ago. also learned how to use a compass and map. he also taught me about the dit dah signals from ground radar for flight paths. sure do miss him

I knew that. I’ve driven across the country trying to many times. FYI, the illegal trucker problem that’s “new” to many started about 2017 or so. Started seeing them at truck stops often. Rude and stinky.

It’s sad we don’t teach this to kids in driver’s ed. I’ve known this forever. We also need to teach them ordinal directions, N, S, E, W, and not left or right. We’re making them dumb.

St Paul and Minneapolis have I35 break into an East and west route. Neither is a dominate route so they carry the 35E & 35W label. Something similar in the Dallas/Fort Worth area has the same label. Nowhere else in the US is that designation allowed.

What about I-94?

So what interstate I-77 ?

Thank you so much for showing this because our schools are not showing our kids anything and sometimes as a parent you forget to show your kids, just assuming they already know!🥹

Now do a video explaining HOW to drive on said hwys because no one seems to know anymore.

I seen what you did there 😏

Wow this is great. And then there us here in Hawaii. We have Interstate H1 and H2. Yes, you read that correctly. Interstate.

@MargoinWNC The fact that this isn’t common knowledge astounds me.

Motivation is Everything 🤡

This is imported all I could think about was what if a kidnapped kid woke up in the Kidnapper car and was able to see highway signs and if they had the knowledge they would know where they are. Maybe? God forbid

I-29! North to south

I live near I79. What direction is that?

I knew about the ones ending in 5, but the rest of the video is interesting.

Even numbers go east and west odd north and south

I495 on Long Island never connects to i95 at all. It literally just starts at the mid town tunnel in manhattan no where near i95 and ends in Suffolk county next to Splish Splash. It’s not doesn’t even past state lines for it to be considered an interstate.

I did learn something. Wow 😮

Back in the days you unfolded your paper map and it had this information on it.

Kind of fascinating there are a few roads the numbers don't make sense though going by this theory.

Thanks for posting that! I too, learned something new just now!

Learned it from Uncle George Wheatley at age 18

I420 hell yeah
