What started as a FLOCK alert for a stolen vehicle quickly turned into a coordinated response by Officers on the ground. After locating the vehicle and confirming it was stolen, one of our officers attempted a traffic stop. The suspect chose to flee. Rather than initiate a pursuit, the officers deployed a GPS tracking device and monitored the vehicle from a safe distance. A short time later, the vehicle came to a stop in a nearby neighborhood. Officers moved in and located the suspect nearby. He attempted to run but was quickly taken into custody. During the arrest, Officers recovered a firearm from the suspect’s backpack, along with marijuana. The suspect showed signs of impairment, and a warrant for a blood draw was obtained. This is what it looks like when training, technology, and teamwork come together. A dangerous situation brought under control without the need for a pursuit, reducing risk for everyone involved.

In the Minneapolis Border Patrol shooting, the suspect was actively resisting, multiple agents were attempting to compel compliance, and the suspect straightened up with a firearm in hand—that’s when the first shot is fired. The still frames showing a “bent elbow” appear after the initial shot, consistent with a waistband reach during a struggle. This wasn’t an “execution” or an ambush. It was a rapidly evolving use-of-force encounter involving a gun, loaded magazines, and active resistance. Media freeze-frames don’t override real-time dynamics. Under self-defense law, an armed suspect reaching during a struggle presents an imminent deadly threat—and officers are not required to wait to be shot.

You’d think it wouldn’t be that hard to find someone swinging a big red machete at people and yet after officers received such a call on Tuesday, the suspect had run from the scene. Enter……Air 1. From their eyes in the sky, our Drone Team spotted the suspect, dressed not unlike a 90s era Backstreet Boy, which we mention because it made him slightly easier to spot among a sea of beautifully changing Fall leaves. (See video) Air 1 notified the responding Patrol officers that the suspect was running through the backyards of a nearby apartment complex. As Air 1 flew above, the suspect stole a bicycle and rode off into the sunset. He didn’t get very far though thanks to Air 1’s watchful eyes. Officers Castro, Burton and Deblasi were able to corner the suspect near a culvert at 30th and Mapleton streets and safely take him into custody without injury to anyone. He was booked into the Boulder County jail on charges of felony menacing, theft and obstructing a peace officer. Officer Diblasi was also able to return the stolen bike to its rightful owner a few minutes later. As in every criminal case, these charges are an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty. We’re thankful this ended without anyone getting hurt and proud that we can use the latest technology and honed police skills to keep our community safe.

Stolen Guitar Recovered, Suspect Arrested Following Foot Pursuit On June 1 at approximately p.m., officers were dispatched to a reported theft in progress at 1611 Redmond Way, Redmond. A store employee reported that a suspect entered the store, stole a guitar valued at approximately $880, and fled the area on foot toward the nearby light rail station. Officers quickly located the suspect aboard a train and recovered the stolen guitar onboard. The suspect then fled from the train onto the light rail tracks and jumped an estimated 15 feet from the top of the downtown light rail station to a roof below in an attempt to evade officers. Officers established a coordinated perimeter with transit security and safely contained the area. The suspect was ultimately located and taken into custody without further incident. The stolen guitar was recovered and returned to the business. The store employee positively identified the suspect, who was taken into custody on theft and obstruction charges. Dash cam video shows a sanitation worker loading a garbage can, ready to empty it into the truck but when he lifts the lid, shocked to find the wanted suspect inside. The worker quickly alerted to police, with the video showing an officer hopping out of the cruiser to chase down the suspect. "As luck would have it, 'Oscar the Grouch' — as we’ve nicknamed our suspect — appeared at just the right place and the right time," the department said in the post. The department said the suspect was taken into custody without injury to anyone involved.

On March 16, 2026, at approximately 11:15 a.m., Dallas Police officers assigned to the Project Safe Neighborhood Task Force located a vehicle that was reported stolen in an armed carjacking on March 15. The officers called for additional units and AIR-1 to maintain visual contact with the vehicle before attempting a traffic stop in the 12300 block of Greenville Avenue. As officers approached and ordered the driver to exit the vehicle, the car took off, and the officers immediately began to pursue it. With AIR-1 overhead, the suspect drove the wrong way down Greenville Avenue, and officers chased the driver onto I-635 with the suspect’s speed approaching 120 miles per hour. The suspect exited the freeway at Jupiter Road and continued to speed through residential areas. Because the helicopter was tracking the suspect, officers were able to safely navigate the residential areas and surface streets, following the suspect back onto I-635. The suspect sped through a construction zone, again reaching speeds over 100 miles per hour until he exited on Town East Boulevard and headed into the City of Mesquite, driving into oncoming traffic into the 2000 block of Town East Boulevard. With traffic building ahead, the suspect attempted to drive over the median and his vehicle became disabled. Dallas Police officers, assisted by officers from Mesquite and deputies from the Dallas Sheriff’s Office, took the suspect into custody. He was identified as 46-year-old Alfredo Hernandez and charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, a state jail felony; Evading Arrest or Detention with a Vehicle, a third-degree felony; Manufacture / Delivery of a Controlled Substance, a second-degree felony; and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by Felon, a third-degree felony. Additional charges may be filed as the investigation continues. This investigation is documented under case number 037178-2026.

Two female police officers, who were too slow to catch a suspect fleeing on foot, jump into an Uber driver's car and demand that he drive them to chase the suspect down. Despite the free ride, the Houston Police officers couldn't catch the man. The Uber driver's wife was reportedly unhappy with the situation. "Two people signed up to be in those situations. Two people are getting paid to be in those situations. One of them wasn’t, you know. So that was the risk that my wife was concerned about," driver Anthony Baines said. The suspect was wanted for allegedly threatening to shoot a mom and her two kids.
