International Chess Federation has stripped the Russian Chess Federation of its membership in the organization for two years after a complaint from Ukraine. Maria Zakharova reacted: "A goat can exclude itself from the animals, but it will not stop being a goat." (See video) "They only prove us right," the Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman said. The International Chess Federation (FIDE) accused the Russian Chess Federation (RCF) and FIDE head Arkady Dvorkovich of violating FIDE's code of ethics and discipline. Dvorkovich was reprimanded, and RCF was suspended from FIDE membership. The decision is related to the holding of chess competitions in the occupied and annexed territories: Crimea, Donetsk, Kherson, and Luhansk regions. After Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Arkady Dvorkovich, a former deputy prime minister and close associate of Dmitry Medvedev, issued an anti-war statement on behalf of FIDE: "FIDE stands united against wars as well as condemns any use of military means to resolve political conflicts." He later made a different statement - that he was raised to hate Nazism and was "sincerely proud of the courage of our [Russian] soldiers." He also criticized "senseless sanctions" and companies leaving Russia.

On 20th of April 1976, R.B. Ramesh was born! 50 years ago! He became a GM at the age of 27 years in 2003. In 2002, he had won the British Championships, and in 2007 he became the Commonwealth Champion. In 2008, he took a bold step in his chess career. He gave up playing chess and started a chess academy and named it Chess Gurukul. He also gave up his job in Indian Oil (IOCL) around the same point. Many told him that this was a dangerous decision. But Ramesh had 2 things going for him: 1. He loved coaching 2. His better half WGM Aarthie Ramaswamy was also ready to support him in this endeavour! With his immense chess knowledge, willingness to learn and ability to work extremely hard, Ramesh created the base for a real chess boom of Indian chess! Players like Praggnanandhaa, Vaishali, Aravindh Chithambaram, Karthikeyan Murali, Bharat Subramaniyam and many others grew up at his academy! There was a point when almost every single rising talent of Indian chess wanted to work with him. Today as Ramesh celebrates his 50th birthday, it is interesting to see the road he has travelled. Vaishali is going to play the World Championship Match in a few days! He also received the Dronacharya award recently. He started a completely free chess academy named Chola Chess to develop the next generation of Indian chess. Thank you Ramesh for powering Indian chess! Our objective was to make the ancient game of chess more popular than people thought it could ever be… To make it vie with spectator sports for the passion & participation of audiences… To remind young people that this great game can be every bit as absorbing & exciting as the best video games… And finally, to bring the phenomenal emotion & experience of being part of a team to the brilliant players of what has traditionally been a lonely sport. They have to devise collective strategies. Share the pain & pleasure of victories & losses. And leave their egos behind, as Magnus did when he gave his Player of the Match trophy to a teammate. World Models are the path for some AI Models in the future. But how can we efficiently train these models to not only see the world the way humans do but to see the world in a new and unique way. By visualizing, what is normally sequenced audio patterns, we can derive much more insights. Here we see Paganini in a visual form that can than be described and transcribed into a World Model. We can observe connections in a manner that may not have been clear prior to the digitalization of music and sound in this way. The company with the most valuable potential in building a World Model is Tesla. Not that this type of visualization is being used, but that the mechanisms are in place, and the technology is in place for the company to thrive in this new form of AI.
