After reaching AI-native terminal velocity we are swamped in code review. The core insight is that as long as you can write code in parallel you will continue to be stuck until you can review it in parallel. I was surprised by how quickly this became my daily driver for not just review code, but writing it as well.

On top of that, you’ll have a clean interface to design and interact with AI more creatively. Software creation is moving from execution to orchestration, and soon, it won’t be a specialised skill, it’ll be the baseline.

I’ve been working on dunk. It’s a terminal diff reviewer where you mark issues inline, then let a coding agent fix them. It started as a fork of hunk, but I stripped it down to the loop I need: review → my comments → agent fixes I’m spending time reviewing code and leaving comments for agents rather than writing code myself. But in most tools, that feedback loop still feels broken. dunk is a simple way to make it work across Claude Code, Codex, Pi, etc.

Right now the main paradigm that we think of agents in is chatting back and forth, but the biggest use of tokens will come from agents that are just always on running in the background doing work for us, or ones triggered from a workflow. Agents will be working 24/7 in our workflows processing data, reviewing and generating documents, moving data between systems, writing code, accelerating decision making steps, and more. In Claude's new Managed Agents feature, in a couple minutes you can wire up an agent that can read contracts when they come into Box to review them, and then assign a task in Linear with the critical information from the contract. But this could have been any workflow, like reviewing documents for client onboarding, invoice processing, M&A due-diligence, data extraction pipelines, and millions of other use-cases. And integrating data across any system. This is only possible when you can have long-running agents that can complete real work in the background, accurately. Agents have the ability to execute code safely, leverage tools, access a compute sandbox, and connect across systems is clearly the architecture of the future. The industry is now making it easier and easier for enterprises to build and deploy these agents.

The Copilot is reading your code and giving you real-time comments. Or the chatbot is actually writing the code for you, and then you're giving it feedback. We had this old concept in the old days called pair programming, where you'd put two coders together in front of the same keyboard, and they could talk to each other and write code together. But now you're just going to have pair programming happening much more broadly, which is human plus machine. And by the way, this hasn't happened yet, but I think the same thing will happen for every other form of writing. In an era when you can do everything, the question is which of these things matter. On the engineer side, it is evaluating the code. Which of this code is even valuable? You can have AI engineers writing beautiful code that could be wrong, that could have bugs in it, that could be vulnerable. Someone needs to review it. Make sure to have a human review at some point, especially critical code that is in the core of your system. On the product side is judgment around what needs to be built and evaluating. And similarly in design, you have to have judgment around, does it make sense in the broader design system. I think this judgment is the number one thing that humans are going to bring in an era of infinite productivity."
