Wrote some rough ground-plane collision code for my physics datapack. It wobbles a lot when sitting still (because it only collides at one corner each tick), but looks pretty believable while it's moving.

One thing about the open source community is that there is a certain kind of weaponized autism when it comes to... "physics". Even if the original model is pretty good with it, "pretty good" isn't enough. Some want it over the top, with anime aesthetics that make the physics often look a bit ridiculous. But it's these kinds of things that move video technology forward. Not cute animal videos, not images of landscapes, but rather the cringe and often embarrassing. its the same energy that moved traditional animation and video tech forward, and today it's moving with AI.

When you tilt it, they slide. When you shake it, they splash. When you hold it still, they settle like water at the bottom of a glass. It looks like actual liquid is trapped behind the screen. But it's all code running on a $15 chip. Opus 5 wrote the entire thing in C.
