why do you need a walking pad to complete your steps when you can go out and walk for free? this has to be one of the dumbest criticism is i keep seeing all the time. and here's what it actually tells me. the person saying it has never been seriously consistent with their steps. because the moment you try to hit 8,000 to 15,000 steps daily for months, you run into every single problem the walkpad solves. the 40°C afternoon heat when you still have 4,000 steps left. the late night when the roads feel unsafe and dogs are lurking outside every other corner. the work from home day where you haven't moved for 6 hours and stepping outside feels like a whole challenge. the walkpad isn't a replacement for going outside. it's a backup system for when outside isn't an option. and honestly, if someone wants to walk in their room, watch a movie, listen to music, and hit their steps in complete isolation, it's fine as well.
