Or do you mean this specific layout, with an app open on one side and app icons on the other, similar to the iPhone Duo? Either someone at Apple tipped Xiaomi off, and they copied it, or Xiaomi came up with it independently, given that the Xiaomi 18 Fold was publicly shown a day before Apple’s event.
