X-Men Pizza Hut Ad (1993)

If you grew up in '93, this commercial was the peak of civilization.

If you were a kid in the 90's you understand how big the hype was for Xmen AND Pizza Hut were lol. It was the best time to be an American comic book nerd.

Dude!!!! I had my mom get me Pizza Hut just for that black X-Men VHS. Marketing worked on me hard. I remember I even hung the poster up in my room.

Morph died and Beast went to prison in the first episode. 10 year old me was in shambles at school the next day.

Watching Marvel/Disney struggle with the IP is both sad... and delicious. Considering how terrible they have been as custodians of this and othe IPs, it is very hard to support them on anything moving forward. Most unfortunate. Yet funny.

Pizza Hut had some cool Marvel stuff...so did Hardees for a short period.

Went the first night they were available and the waitress was cool enough to sell me both tapes. Couldn't live without those Bill Sienkiewicz trading cards. Almost positive I still have them, too.

I wonder where those people are now. How did their lives turn out? Do they still talk about that old pizza commercial they did as teens? Did they become drug addicts and die? I think about that stuff all the time. (sigh) I probably oughta cut down on the gummies.

I owned the VHS until I went to college. Pizza Hut did work for making the X-men as big as a they are.
