I’m just stressed seeing her walk down those stairs and in that basement with NO SHOES (or house slippers at least)

She is in a triple Decker house. When I was growing up my friends who lived in one had a washer in their kitchen and would hang their clothes out to dry.

I'd be installing the washer and dryer up stairs somewhere. Screw that adventure.

That’s where our laundry was when I was a kid. Everyone’s washer & dryer were in the basement. Not a laundry room down there, just the appliances hanging out in a corner of the basement. Next to the oil tank, a file cabinet and some odds& ends.

I had a very similar laundry set up at an apartment I lived in, only the stairs were much steeper and outdoors. When you got to the ground floor, you could go into the laundry room. It was even scarier then this, and much more dangerous because the stairs got wet and icy with a steep drop on one side and the rail and stairs were wiggly and rotted. Plus there where always homeless people going through the recycling and garbage bins which were located between the scary laundry room and the steep staircase. I loved that apartment but I do not miss that laundry set up.

I used to do that. When I purchased a house a renovated I added washer dryer in each floor and basement included.

This is way nicer than the Horror Haunt of the Boiler Room. Ever had to go down a dark hall, several floors down into the bowels of the basement as a kid being sent to measure the Oil in the tank? We just grew up different in Boston.

Based on the look of that place and that is is located in Boston, it has probably been around for well over 100 years. I'm betting there is a lot history there. Possibly a lot of ghosts too if you believe in that. 😅

Haha when my aunt lived in Boston that’s exactly what her basement/laundry room looked like (she didn’t have to go down 5 fligjts of stairs to get there, tho)
