No, CPD is not harassing anyone. Considering the high volume of crime on the CTA — stabbings are common — it is certain CPD was able to reasonably articulate a reason for the search. Transit riders should be applauding CPD for their effort to make the CTA safer. Unfortunately, this is Mayor Brandon Johnson's Chicago, where progressive lawmakers routinely trash CPD, so riders immediately became confrontational with Police.

Toni Preckwinkle is silent in the aftermath of these gruesome crimes because she believes we just need to learn how to cope with crime. Today, Mayor Brandon Johnson praised Community Violence Interrupters (CVIs) as "incredible workers." The mayor is clueless. For Chicagoans who are unaware, CVIs are ex-gang members who dress in colored vests and return to the streets where they resume gang activity. CVIs are paid with federal, state and city money grant money, up to $500 a week, to sling dope, sell guns, and pursue gang vendettas. CVIs also routinely interfere with CPD as they attempt to bring criminals to justice. In some cases, they obstruct CPD as they conduct investigations. Violence interrupters are another idiotic progressive idea, and because the progressives run this city, the City of Chicago is now subsidizing gang violence on our streets.
