My brother’s a professor at City University; he’s president of the university, and there’s a campaign at the moment going on against one of their professors who was in the Israeli Defense Forces in the 1980s. We were having a discussion about how the university was standing up for the free speech of its staff, and I’d begun to wonder, as I went home reading your book on the tube, whether I’d made a big mistake—because the protest against this professor is really just a coordination exercise, isn’t it? And maybe I’d aided it by talking about it. Me: Oh yes—protests are coordination exercises. They’re designed to make private knowledge common knowledge. So, in a repressive regime, everyone may know that they despise the government, but because criticism of the government is punished, people might keep their opinions to themselves, with a result that they really don’t know what their fellow citizens think. Don’t buy your significant other something really expensive that they don't even know about, like a diamond necklace, or a watch, or a car, or a boat. How do you know they want that? The worst thing you can do is spend a whole bunch of money and come out of there, open up the box, and say, "Look at this, honey. I bought this for you." And they go, "I hate it." Sometimes it's better to consult with your significant other and buy it together. I know people want the element of surprise. It's a huge mistake, because the surprise to the downside really sucks.

A few days ago Jerod McDaniel shared a quote along the lines of “horses made for war don’t dance well at weddings” I think there are a lot of people like myself that know how plants… or livestock.. or a pasture or even building a house or pouring concrete work. We just want to do what we do. The weather worked out well this year for this. We’re going to be 👍 I could grow about anything, but I like to do it my own way. I sometimes wish I didn’t have to predict or guess what people will do… or markets… and the all the corresponding things that entails. I know you can’t just do your craft, but sometimes you want to just immerse yourself in something you have a more complete understanding of. I watch people like Adam Chappell do this with cotton. Zack Smith come up with farmonius designs Intergrazing livestock. We could do so much cool shit, if only we could just have the local markets, infrastructure… if the average person could have that connection and means to trade with the local farm / farmer that just wanted to just do it…be him or herself Maybe I left you hanging with the main idea here. I think there are a lot of different people who are really good at different things, but many of us have to sand off our edges that give us our edge. I love to think in the lens of the 🌱

All of us have a responsibility, each from our own position, to protect sport. Sport is for these children you see here. It is meant to unite people, to fill stadiums and arenas so that we can all enjoy ourselves. The reality is that one team will win and another will lose. One year someone will be doing well, the next year they may not be. Not everyone can win. But the issue is not victory or defeat—the issue is understanding how long young people will continue to lose their lives in the name of the team they support. I don’t know who needs to intervene. I don’t know what needs to be done. I am not the person responsible. I simply felt that I had to say this because we truly play basketball for the people. 🧸 when we first debuted, the company really wanted to push a "prince" image for us. because of that, they wouldn't let me do things like aegyo when we went on variety shows. 🧸 even though i just wanted to give hearts or do a little aegyo for our fans, they intentionally made us avoid those things. 🧸 i couldn't even make heart gestures. the company banned it, so one time i went on a show and i did some aegyo right before the show ended without them knowing 🧸 but i got caught doing that. the company found out and i actually got in trouble for it 🧸 if i tried too hard to be funny or cute, they would just edit all of it out of the broadcast. i really hated to see us getting a reputation as "boring" group right from the start 🧸 because of that, there was this live streaming platform we used at the time. we all just said “hey, this is live, so the company can't stop us" 🧸 and we decided to just do whatever we wanted, and from that point on, it wasn't really that the company changed their minds, it was more like they just gave up on us.

🐻: but honestly, i still feel like there are so many things nct dream hasn’t shown yet. people often say that when you think of dream, it feels refreshing, and i’m glad we’re known for that. but as someone who does music, i don’t want to stay comfortable with just that image. it might be sad if we’re only performing within that box. sometimes, i want to do music that the fans like, sometimes what the public likes, and sometimes just what we like. in the end, the most important thing is showing a variety of good-quality work. there are so many singers out there, and i want us to stay a team that can’t be replaced. that's my goal (to be a star that burns forever among countless stars) 🥹🥹🥹

I’ve really monitored everything from the side and we always talk a lot, about the stages like "if we do it like this, how will it be?" or, "what if we do it like that?" So even before recording (the album) we talked a lot, like "will this work or not?" - "I think it does" and even after recording we talked a lot, like, "what if we try it like this or like that?" And when it first came out, we worried a lot because we put our everything into it and even after that it still felt hard somehow. 🐰: the issue of hate speech, hate trends, and things like that is something we’ve been facing quite heavily lately. It’s escalated to the point where there have even been threats. So of course, I worry about myself, and about everyone. 🐰: To be honest, what defines Keng and Namping has always been things like walking around freely, eating street noodles, living simply. But now, the more we try to be close to people, the more we start to worry. We start feeling uneasy, like maybe we can’t do things the same way anymore. We begin to think more carefully: if we go out to eat, should it be somewhere more private? If we meet people, should it be at times when there aren’t many others around? There’s a lot more to consider now, because we really don’t want anything bad to happen. 🐰: But we can never truly know someone’s intentions, whether they’re real or not. And if something were to actually happen one day, the people who would be hurt the most would be our parents, our fans, and ourselves. No matter who it is, we don’t want any artist to have to go through something like this.
