Yesterday, a huge wildfire ripped through our farm, causing many thousands of dollars' worth of damage. Irrigation pipes, solar panels, silage sausages, and stovers were just destroyed. The first time I really feel like quitting this gutu project. Over 100ha's burnt. Painful. But at least no animals or people died.

Yesterday was a wake up call on the brutality of nature. The wind was lifting flames 30 feet in the air. Most our farm workers were off. We could only fight to save the homestead coz we have thatch. I failed to save the thatching grass we had been cutting for the last 3 months. I failed to save our silage. I failed to save the borehole solars at 2 locations. You’re looking at thousands of studs that have been jammed into the ground, on what was previously prime farmland, as they continue to build out Cider Solar in Elba and Oakfield, New York. The studs will hold the Chinese-made solar panels that were constructed and shipped with fossil fuels and rare earth minerals. Cider Solar is a massive 500MW industrial complex that will destroy 4,000 acres by the time they’re done. Since commercial solar only generates at 15% of its annual potential in Upstate NY (actually closer to 10% in Western NY), this 500MW complex will only generate 75MW of power when it’s all said and done. Thousands of acres gone. Soil compacted. Runoff reported. Chemicals sprayed to suppress vegetation. Animals displaced in every direction. And the history and culture of these towns destroyed forever. Honestly, something I’ve never seen at least after any Tennessee game, home or away…was the band marching out of the stadium like this. So many of us Vols fans didn’t care where they were going, but we were following them. Was literally having a parade through Gainesville last night. So few people can say they were actually in Gainesville when Tennessee won, and I’m now one of them. 1971, 2001, 2003, 2025…it’s sad those are the 4 most recent wins in Gainesville. But I can say I was there, and that’s all that matters to me.

I've been to 50 countries now, but it was my trip in 2017 to the Maldives that made me feel we were making a big impact in the travel industry. I remember meeting with the PR team at Conrad Hotels Maldives. They said they wanted to become the top-followed Maldives hotel brand. So, we started posting content on Earthpix right away. By the time I left, their follower count had jumped from 32k to 120k. After returning, we ran a giveaway, pushing them over 200k followers and hotel bookings were at an all time high. That's why they contracted us in 2018 to announce the grand opening of their underwater villa, The Muraka. They even gave us a year's exclusivity, not letting any other travel bloggers or influencers stay and experience The Muraka that year. Our Muraka campaign got over 500 million views across all social platforms that year and some of our videos were featured on tv news channels. I have many stories like this. I don't always share them, but I'm really proud of what we've achieved at Earthpix, and of everyone who's been a part of our journey. We're just getting started.

A few days ago Jerod McDaniel shared a quote along the lines of “horses made for war don’t dance well at weddings” I think there are a lot of people like myself that know how plants… or livestock.. or a pasture or even building a house or pouring concrete work. We just want to do what we do. The weather worked out well this year for this. We’re going to be 👍 I could grow about anything, but I like to do it my own way. I sometimes wish I didn’t have to predict or guess what people will do… or markets… and the all the corresponding things that entails. I know you can’t just do your craft, but sometimes you want to just immerse yourself in something you have a more complete understanding of. I watch people like Adam Chappell do this with cotton. Zack Smith come up with farmonius designs Intergrazing livestock. We could do so much cool shit, if only we could just have the local markets, infrastructure… if the average person could have that connection and means to trade with the local farm / farmer that just wanted to just do it…be him or herself Maybe I left you hanging with the main idea here. I think there are a lot of different people who are really good at different things, but many of us have to sand off our edges that give us our edge. I love to think in the lens of the 🌱

FIREBALL OVER WASHINGTON STATE MARCH 28th! This marks the 11th fireball event with 100+ observer reports across the USA in the month of March. Many other fireballs have flown in this month as well that have been also similar in brightness, duration, etc but were at really odd hours so weren't seen by too many people. Most of these fireballs are coming from the anti-solar direction and could be debris traveling in advance of other larger fragments or even a BIG ONE. The currently anti-solar direction is exactly towards the trajectory path of Interstellar #3IATLAS during its perihelion in Oct/November exactly along the ecliptic plane in-between the orbits of Earth and Mars.

Earlier I posted that people should be wary of attending Demo Days because protesters were bombarding guests right at the entrance. I’m not sure if Demo Days allowed them to be there or not, but I would really appreciate it if the founder BJ Birtwell could please make a clear statement and address this for all of us. As a Tesla owner, it’s incredibly frustrating and hurtful to have to walk through that kind of nonsense just to try and enjoy a Demo Days event. These events should feel welcoming and positive, not like something you have to brace yourself for.

The first public project I did with Tunde Onakoya and Sam Otigba was our Internship and SIWES program and I think we had over 50,000 people applied, we paired thousands of students to companies and got a lot of successful hires. Then we did the laptop support program in partnership with so many amazing individuals like Aproko Doctor Global , Adewale , Bop Daddy , Dr. Temidayo Oniosun , tiago.eth , Eni Adeoluwa , It’s Boffin, Maxitech Global and others and we gave out minimum of 5 laptops per round. Now this time, we’ve already put together a 250M Naira fund to support a particular set of Nigerians with their career. This is me trying to shoot a video for our latest project and omoooo it’s stressful ooo. Application link will open soon.

I always felt weird watching this video. It’s when Erika is coming in and thousands of people were doing vigils for Charlie. Very early on in September. Maybe this is the first moment we ever saw Erika. The guy in the passenger seat never really identified him…He looks suspicious, he’s making sure she does the right facial expressions or something? Looking over at her. I’m getting bad vibes from this car ride. Stacy looks like worried. I don’t know what kind of phone she’s on.

I've been sitting on this (there are more) for just the right moment. This was at the Verso loft for a fundraiser for the Zohran/Phara/Samelys/Jabari slate. Everyone was amazing. Dania and I were blown away. But we also realized: no was going to give. We're not rich but we believe in the cause and are old enough to have lived through so much failure. So we forked over the big first donation. Mamdani today is making it look worth every penny. I suffer no illusions about what is coming but today is a day to feel good...

🎆🧨Are fireworks really worth the fear they cause for countless animals across El Salvador during Christmas and New Years? While it brings joy to many across the world, including myself, but when hundreds explode on every street corner, even a quiet town like Juayua felt like a war zone💣💥 Street dogs with no safe haven were left trembling, disoriented, or injured in their panic. One even snuck into our house for safety while we stepped outside to watch. It was heartbreaking—and im sure it’s exhausting for our elders and children who would be struggling to sleep through the late hours of the night (i.e. morning at 3am). What’s your take? Should we find a balance between celebration and compassion? Or am i being just another entitled gringo? Would love to hear your thoughts 🤔

I recorded this on a bike somewhere in Ondo State yesterday, and it really gave me an insight into why crimes like kidnapping can thrive in certain areas. As far as the eyes could see, there were vast stretches of land with little or no human presence. It made me realize just how much of Nigeria remains largely unoccupied compared to the areas where people are concentrated. At the same time, Lagos is bursting at the seams with people, traffic, and development, while many other states have huge expanses of land and relatively small populations. It got me thinking: is part of our security challenge linked to how unevenly our population and development are distributed? With so much land lying idle across the country, what can the government realistically do to make these areas safer, more productive, and more attractive for people and businesses? I'd genuinely love to hear your thoughts Meanwhile, the bike trip took 20 km of riding for ₦5,000 as there was no public vehicle going that way.

The Olympic skier returned home after suffering a complex leg fracture due to crashing during her first run at the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics. While undergoing several surgeries, Lindsey's other beloved pet dog Leo died. "Reunited with Chance…. ❤️❣️" she wrote. Water catchments must be preserved. The EUDR agenda in the coffee sector must be a priority. The future of farmers, of many, and of countries is at stake. This September heat wave across Uganda is unprecedented — but the trendline over the years has been clear. The next crisis like in America’s or Europe is the fires!! The response must be meta (the full force of government and people working in concert).
