This scene in Narnia is Peak. It's literally Calvary. Lewis was explicit: Aslan is not an allegory. He is a "Supposal." This is exactly who Christ would be if He incarnated in a world of talking beasts. The execution on the Stone Table explains the "Deep Magic" (The Law) and the "Deeper Magic" (Grace). The Law demands blood for treason, but Grace breaks the stone when an innocent victim offers himself in the traitor's place. Aslan walking up the hill to the Stone Table isn't just a sad movie scene. It is a direct mirror of the road to Calvary. C.S. Lewis didn't make Aslan like Jesus. He wrote Aslan as Jesus incarnate in Narnia. As Lewis famously wrote: "He is not a tame lion. But He is good."
