One year ago today, Ukraine withdrew from the ruins the village of Krynky after nearly a year of fighting on the eastern bank of the Dnipro River. Over 1,000 Ukrainian soldiers were confirmed to have been killed - many of which were marines - in a suicide operation doomed to fail. FAB glide-bombs, artillery, and drones pounded Ukrainian positions in the ruins all day every day, yet the Ukrainian command continued to funnel more and more soldiers in - many of which were killed while crossing the river. This battle is hardly talked about today, but I truly hope it will go down in history as one of the most reckless and incompetent decisions ever made in modern military history.
