Albertans have said over and over and over again, "No coal mining in the eastern slopes." The UCP government recently lifted the moratorium on coal mining in our mountains to avoid a lawsuit that they caused because of their own incompetence. This government promised to protect our mountains and yet here we are calling open season on mining and risking irreparable damage to our economy, agriculture sector, recreational lands and water. We need to keep up the pressure to tell Danielle Smith and her UCP this is unacceptable. We want mountains not mines.

The UCP government is willing to gamble with your pension by pulling out of the Canadian Pension Plan. Albertans have been clear that they do not want a provincial pension plan. “KINDA STRONG AND SORTA FREE” The UCP has now introduced Bill 14 and yes, it really does ban certain words. Under this bill, “conservative” becomes exclusive property of the UCP. The term “Progressive Conservative,” every related acronym, and even combinations like “Progressive + any C-word” are banned. Oddly, “communist” is also restricted - meaning Alberta is now guaranteed only one Communist Party. Quite an accomplishment. Our team has started calling ourselves the “Progressive Redacted Party” until we can repeal this mountain of UCP overreach and put “Conservative” back where it belongs. Healthy democracies don’t ban their opponents from using words. Governments in free-fall do. Every poll shows the same thing: with a PC option on the ballot, the UCP drops into third place. So, instead of competing, they legislate away their competition. Let’s restore normalcy, accountability, and Alberta’s reputation. Watch this NDP unity ad. It's so convoluted. In one sentence, Nenshi brags about how Albertans stuck together through droughts, floods, booms, busts, and brutal winters… and “built something bigger than ourselves". Translation: We built Alberta. Proudly. On our own grit. Then, in the next breath: “Danielle Smith would help Alberta walk away from Team Canada… Albertans know better… Greatness isn’t built by breaking apart… pull as ONE… Alberta, always on Team Canada”. So let me get this straight..... we built Alberta by working together as Albertans, but now he wants us to ditch “Team Alberta” and jump on “Team Canada”, a team that's done nothing for us in the last 50 years. Why? It’s like saying: “Great job building this place... now sell your small business and join the big corporation, because real success is being a minority shareholder.” Convoluted much? P.S. He's lying about Smith. She's not pushing for independence, we the citizens are the ones demanding it.
