I was working in bali during lockdown 2021. It was heaven, no tourists. Hard on the locals for sure, but at least it was bali. Then the tourists/lunatics started flooding in again, and the disrespect towards the Balinese grew as well.

But... Balinese people themselves (not all, but many) tend to treat white tourists better than domestic tourists. Some domestic tourists receive poor treatment from local business owners (restaurants, clothing stores, souvenir shops). Their government also seems to tolerate it.

There are like 30 million Asians in the United States my country and they cry if you ask where they are really from. You can deal with a few thousand rich tourists.

I've lived in Bali for 13 years, but I wouldn't consider myself a local. Even though I've taken part in some ceremonies, went to a local friend's wedding, stuff like that. I consider myself blessed they let me take part and invite me to this stuff.

When Asians/Africans move to Europe and the US and Europeans/Americans complain about it you get angry; but you do exactly the same in = hypocrisy. If people move to another country, follow and respect the local laws and contribute economically isn't that enough?

I will always support full and immediate deportation of people who don't respect the rules of the country they visit. Sad to say it is international. Have lots of my countryman who act like shit in Asian Countries because they are "more superior then locals"... And even in our small online community of people in Malaysia we mostly don't like our people who choose to stay on Bali and does visa-runs to KL and back. In most cases they are different level of scammers or just rich spoiled people.

I hated Bali. Possibly the worse place i have visited. Dirty brown beach. Constantly hassled in the steet. Far too many tourists. Should be a lesson of what happens with tourist saturation.
