More on bringing your existing workflow into Codex:

Here's how you can set up automatic syncs:

What I need is session transfer from CLI! I have 2 Devices where I working on my projecst, when my child is on my main PC i'm on my Notebook, but I have always the problem that the sessions are not on there and continuing then is harder. Do you plan something like save of sessions in cloude?

You mean import your work from Calude ? 😄

Oh so now I can import everything from that orange agent?

Listen to tou users for a change and bring back 4o. #4oForAll

Having up-to-date project memory is crucial to an optimized codebase

This rebrand from Codex to ChatGPT is one of the dumbest branding moves since Twitter -> X. So much unnecessary intuitive friction in a post like this.

YOO this is literally what I need rn

Let's be real you're just giving us bait so we can switch to ChatGPT. Companies are doing anything to get customers nowadays gotta respect it.

Return 4o to us 😒 #keep4o #OpenSource4o #GPT4o

Thank you for the work you are all doing. Creating a unified working surface across so many forms and factors has to be (near) impossible. It's going to speed up the progress of humanity.

Codex, Chat and Work implementation is a complete mess. Started a Chat on iOS, and somehow ended up in Work when I continued the chat on my MacBook?! This isn’t a one-off either. Time to try Grok and Cursor.

I just want years of my ChatGPT memories and history in my desktop app! I want my ChatGPT who already knows me, my work, and my life.. not someone new where I have to explain everything all over again. And I want it synced between cloud and local!

My agent config has been ported to more platforms than my actual code

The continuity fix that i've been looking for.

@OpenAIDevs nice, this is gonna save me a ton of time switching between apps. any known hiccups with import history yet?

Can you import from another ChatGPT account? Like from personal to enterprise?

Can someone remind me when the banked reset expires tomorrow?

When Linux version? I'm updating to codex-app-unofficial 26.623.101652_launcher.35-1 now

Lool i can import all works from claude hahaha

We noticed you were cheating on us with Claude/Gemini/Grok. Don’t worry, we’ll keep their work… and their dignity.” Resistance is futile. Your projects will be assimilated.

This is sick.

Skills port more easily than structure does. We shipped five good ones and still got a finance deliverable handed back as a plain text file. Nothing in the skill was wrong. What was missing was a rule about where output has to land.

“Sync-not-migrate is the interesting design choice here — most import tools force a one-time cutover, but keeping automatic updates as an opt-in means people can run both agents in parallel indefinitely instead of committing to a switch. Curious if that’s meant to lower the switching cost specifically, or if it’s a hedge against people bouncing back.”

Does it mean I can see my chats from Desktop app and codex in ChatGPT web UI?

How about making ChatGPT the client that talks to Codex? Let me stay in the project conversation where the design, history, and decisions live, send an approved task to a specific Codex repo, and have Codex return the diff, tests, and report back into that same thread.

what about the watermarking thing?

does this sync or just copy? worried about conflicts

Bring 4o back!

When are we going to get skill syncing between the browser UI and the desktop app?

codex doesn’t even stay in sync with remote from the phone, the pins are always shifting around or not matching

Been doing the inverse — Claude Code + Codex as peers on one repo via a file bus (no APIs). Syncing context across agents is the hard part. Wrote it up:
