@claudeai @OpenAI @code Will using Codex and Claude from this interface provide the full versions of these models (with 400k context tokens for Codex and 200k for Opus), or are they still the versions nerfed by Copilot (200k context for Codex and 64k tokens for Opus)?

GitHub just dropped Claude and Codex agents into Copilot and bro… I actually yelled at my screen. You write something like “refactor this messy component” or “add tests for the auth flow,” pick your agent, and it just goes—reads the whole repo, reasons through the code, opens clean PRs with explanations. I spent like 30 minutes playing with it tonight. Threw Claude at a legacy mess I’ve been avoiding for weeks and it nailed the structure, caught edge cases I’d forgotten, even left comments explaining why it made certain choices. This isn’t autocomplete anymore. It feels like suddenly having a really good senior dev sitting next to you who never gets tired. Honestly buzzing right now. You tried it yet? What was the first thing you made an agent do?

@claudeai @OpenAI @code This is the right packaging: agents inside the repo workflow, not another tab. Adoption will hinge on boring stuff: clear permissions, deterministic context boundaries, and a run log you can attach to the PR so reviews stay concrete. 👀

@claudeai @OpenAI @code GitHub becoming the marketplace where you pick which AI clears your backlog is the smartest positioning play. They stopped trying to be the best model and became the platform where all models compete. That's the real moat.

@claudeai @OpenAI @code Copilot is becoming a multi-agent orchestration layer. You can even assign the same issue to all 3 agents in parallel and compare their approaches, very nice

@claudeai @OpenAI @code Letting developers pick which agent fits the task best is smart. Different models excel at different things, and having them compete within the same workflow is exactly what enterprise teams need.

@claudeai @OpenAI @code Copilot is great, but it would be even better if the Pro version offered a higher usage limit.

@claudeai @OpenAI @code The shift from Copilot as autocomplete to Copilot as an agent clearing your backlog is a fundamental change in how teams think about developer productivity. The interesting constraint now is knowing what to delegate and what still needs human judgment.

@claudeai @OpenAI @code As a full-stack dev working across Python + PHP stacks, having Claude AND Codex agents in one workflow is a game-changer. One clears infra boilerplate, the other handles business logic. Copilot Enterprise just got very interesting.

@claudeai @OpenAI @code Claude Code for production payment system work has been strong. Fintech specific suggestions, idempotency patterns, retry logic handling are noticeably good. Multi agent workflows inside Copilot is an interesting direction. The tooling is finally catching up to the ambition.

@claudeai @OpenAI @code Here’s a more measured, neutral-toned reply: Could be an interesting move bringing Claude and Codex agents directly into GitHub workflows. Could meaningfully reduce time spent on backlog grooming if the task handoff and PR quality hold up in practice.
