@SteveBackshall Rob Rinder is brilliant on this programme, maybe he should have a much more regular role on GMB as he is neutral politically and cares very much about justice and fairness

@SteveBackshall Why can’t Kate Garraway let him finish what he is saying before butting in? It’s ignorant and disrespectful to anyone appearing on this show.

@SteveBackshall 10m more people in 20 years and still growing at alarming rates, not only 💩 in rivers but doorways and streets!

@SteveBackshall This is a result of blind right wing dogma that private enterprise is the only solution. For many things it is but for our water, transport and energy shareholder profit cannot be the most important thing.

@SteveBackshall @gmb maybe ceo of energy companies should go to prison for over charging too, planners to allowong more builds. Let's take OfWat to task for reducing the subsidised payments, where does the fines from the EA go? & make developers pay more to increase infrastructure as they don't

@SteveBackshall Most of the world’s rivers are toxic. That said, why not laid down an ultimatum for the water companies? Either clean up your act to an acceptable level or get taken over by the government with no compensation for shareholders. 👍

@SteveBackshall Feargal Starkey is very critical of the Government's water bill, stating that due to the small print, no-one will go to prison. He states laws are already in place, but the regulators don't enforce it. He believes the Government has wasted an opportunity and I agree with him.

@SteveBackshall Chris Weston CEO of @thameswater got £195,00 bonus for 3months wants to hike prices by 60% pollution exploitation massive dividends massive underinvestment are deliberate choices…just let it go “BUST”

@SteveBackshall We pay for our water so surely any utility company falling below the safe levels should be held to account. As any private companies should be,for selling something for consumption that is not fit for consumption. We should just pay for sewage element of bill .

@SteveBackshall So glad something is finally being done about the vile practices of many water boards! Hope it has gone far enough to stop it.
