Stop anti-Hellenic propaganda. The greatest proof of the Greek identity of the Macedonians is their participation in the Olympic Games. The Greeks were extremely ethnocentric. They did not accept foreigners/barbarians into their customs. Thus, the Hellanodikai were the ones who examined all athletes to ensure they had strictly Greek ancestry. They did not only inspect the Macedonians, but also athletes from Argos, Athens, Sparta the islanders etc. They were examinating if both parents were Greeks. For example if the father was Athenian but mother Scythian then the athlete couldn't participate. When it was the Macedonians' turn, the Hellanodikai judged that the Macedonians were naturally Greeks, descended from Argos in the Peloponnese. Philip the Macedon won 4 times in the Olympic Games. This morning at Pa Adebanjo’s burial in Ogun State, Peter Obi arrived and met some elderly men and women outside. They were not allowed in as the security stated the Church was full. But they were elderly and standing under the sun when there were still a few seats inside and even a large canopy for shade. The security saw Peter Obi and immediately opened the locked gate for only him to go in but he stood by the gate insisting that the elderly men and women go in first to sit or at least stay under the shade before he would go in They were all filled with smiles and thanks for his kindness as they noted some others have gone in without even assisting them. A man of the people ❣️.

A smaller part of the Greek population entered foreign dynasties, ruling families and local populations through intermarriage and political alliance. This allowed Hellenic ancestry, language, Gods and institutions to take root in lands whose native populations vastly outnumbered the Greek settlers. The greater body of the Greek population continued to marry within its own communities, preserving its ancestry, language, customs and identity. Those who integrated with foreign peoples formed an outer extension of the Hellenic world, carrying Hellenism beyond the Greek settlements without dissolving the nation itself. Hellenisation was not founded upon the extermination, expulsion or wholesale replacement of conquered populations, but upon extending Greek civilisation among existing peoples, spreading the Greek language and gradually transforming their institutions, art, religion and thought. Alexander’s conquests carried Greek power into Bactria and India. The cities, kingdoms and institutions established afterwards allowed Hellenism to endure there. From the Hellenistic kingdoms to the Roman Greek East, through the Greek-speaking Roman Empire and into the modern Greek nation, this balance preserved the continuity of the Greek people while carrying the Hellenic spirit and soul far beyond Greece. The Hellenic soul was immortalised both within the nation that sustained it and within the civilisations permanently marked by its presence.

Today marks the seventh consecutive day of protests in Islamabad. For the past week, elderly mothers and young girls have been consistently denied permission to hold a peaceful demonstration outside the Islamabad Press Club. A ban on protests and speaking out against human rights violations in Balochistan remains in place. Even when these women and children traveled to Islamabad to raise their voices peacefully, they were not allowed to do so. A myopic analysis. The state pension was contributory (see clip), and very gradually and quietly, over time, that situation changed. Adair Turner’s 2002 tome even refers to the state pension as “an entitlement”. The people were actively told that if you built up a NIC record, you will get the appropriate state pension, but the people were not told that changed, because the change was quietly buried over time within acts of parliament and not referred to. Did government not learn from WASPI? At least when women had their state pension age changed, it was widely promulgated. This though, changed because the government wanted you to think that in the future that your state pension would be a privilege, and not an entitlement. Because then of course, the state can tell you that you don’t get one, and it then has a tighter hold over you. The state did not tell you when it slowly started to change it from being a contributory scheme to a non-contributory scheme, because it wanted the best of both worlds. It knew, when it started to change things, but all hell would break loose if people realised the state pension was going to be something to be a carrot and stick, and not an entitlement.
