“You had frontline controllers ringing that bell for years and years, saying this is not safe. This cannot continue. La Guardia airport collision from past week - Reuters reported today that controller staffing might have violated procedures According to this source, "Local air and ground roles at LaGuardia are not supposed to be combined before midnight". This was dictated by a rule set in place after a 1997 collision (now to see what is the worst - that they never revised a rule nearly 30 years old, or the fact that they weren´t enforcing something established for such a long time) Reuters also wrote the NTSB is "investigating which of the controllers in the tower was handling ground role" More info on the link below

Marine One took off from the White House yesterday at 2:33pm, but air traffic at nearby Reagan National Airport didn't stop as required, leading the NTSB to consider investigating a possible loss of separation between aircraft. The FAA said controllers were in contact with both pilots throughout the incident, and the White House stressed the president was never in danger. What the Israeli Air Force destroyed at Sanandaj Airport was a Bell 214A Isfahan utility helicopter belonging to the Iranian Red Crescent Society, not an Mi-17. Even if it had been an Mi-17, it would still have belonged to the Red Crescent Society. There is no military base at Sanandaj Airport. The Israeli Air Force is striking whatever it can and labeling it as an IRGC or military asset to justify its actions.
