“When people face challenges like ours or have experienced a history similar to what we have gone through, there must be transformation. We must change in our hearts and in the way we do things. That is what is essential and fundamental so that the history that once defined us disappears, fades away, and vanishes. We must take actions that clearly show everyone that Rwanda is no longer what it was 30 years ago; look at what they [Rwandans] say, look at what they do, and see how they are transforming the lives of their fellow Rwandans. This is critical and cannot be overlooked. Even today, if you search the internet, you will still find people speaking ill of Rwanda and its leaders, distorting everything to make it appear negative. When people unite, like what Unity Club represents, unity, it reflects a broader goal for the entire country. The country should be like Unity Club. When falsehoods are spread or bad things are said or done to Rwanda, if people are united, driven by the same purpose and the determination to ask, ‘Why? Why do people portray us like this? As we remember Bucha, we ask: what will war and threats look like tomorrow – for Europe, for all of us? We must not let Europe’s enemies answer this question for us, or before us. This is very serious. If we have programs like SAFE, we must make them truly modern and effective. Europe should produce not just what it knows, but what really works in today’s war and what is proven by today’s war. And countries already working with us on joint production understand this. Ukraine has this experience. Now, as our expert teams work in the Middle East and the Gulf, we see that our experience in protecting lives and critical infrastructure is, in many ways, unique. I say this not just out of pride. This is about security. Ukraine’s experience in defense is a real security guarantee for Europe. So I propose that we work together to modernize our defense. I took part in the Iftar. It is a great honor for me. For the thirteenth Ramadan in a row, the Muslim community of Ukraine and the Crimean Tatar people are marking it under difficult conditions – under Russian aggression and Russian strikes. We very much hope that next year Ramadan will be celebrated in peace. And this is what we wish for all peoples who are now in danger – in war. We see what is happening in the Middle East and the Gulf region. We hope that the regime in Iran does not prevail, because it is an anti-human regime, and it spreads war across virtually its entire region – it is important that people and countries succeed in defending themselves and that the war there does not drag on. I thank every state that truly helps protect life – both our lives here in Ukraine and the lives of other peoples. Let us remember: we are all confronting the same evil – those who destroy life, those who despise people. It is no coincidence that Moscow and the regime in Iran have been so close. What unites them is their lack of respect for people. All of us in Europe and in the world must be effective in defending against such regimes – we must be effective so that life prevails. May it be so. Thank you all. We will certainly not forget our people in occupation and in captivity. And we are doing everything so that normal human values prevail over Russian evil.
