He was/is an elite ball striker, but that was painful to watch. You can tell he is stuck. He wants to pull the trigger but can't. I got the yips so bad a few years ago on putts inside 4 ft. 10 footer I look at, line up, and stroke in like 10 seconds. 3 footer, I would get stuck over the ball for a long time. It sucked.

His were so crazy.

I was there for this (1st Beth Page US Open) and the crowd was counting his regrips (as many as 8,10,12 before a swing). He didn’t know how to take it. I almost felt sorry for him, it was so neurotic. But I think it was the catalyst to fix it.

The fans started counting out loud so he quit doing it.

So that’s where I got it. I sometimes tell my slower playing partners “come on, hit it, Sergio!”
