My problem with pharma isn't just what they sell. It's what they believe about you before you ever walk in the door. The industry operates on the idea that we're flawed as individuals, broken by default, in need of something outside ourselves just to function. I see the same mindset running through a lot of the political system I grew up in. The message becomes that we're a burden on the planet, a disease on it, something to be managed and corrected rather than trusted. That is not the mandate we were given. The first story ever told on this earth is that we were created in the image and likeness of God, designed as a mirror of perfection. So when someone approaches my health by starting with the idea that I have a lack something outside must fix, I have a problem with that framework before we even get to the specifics.
